I guess it depends how active you are: If you're having orgasms every day since puberty, you will be lucky to still be alive at 50. But if you can limit yourself to twice a month, 50 might not seem that old.

More than a decade past 50, here.

You know, I am seeing lots of threads about this little thing called abortion.

It seems to me that one of the reasons why different groups might have attempted to control sex, who has it and when, is because it attempts to prevent things like abortion.

Here's another one from the files of why sex has had social controls imposed on it in various times and places:

It was so bad that we all had to hide in our houses and go about life in super restricted fashion wearing cloth diapers on our faces. It was so bad they tried to tell we either had to get shots or not work.

Of course, COVID was transmitted by other means than sex.

So now we have monkeypox which we are also being told is a terrible, terrible disease. It's so bad you might need a smallpox vaccination in order to not get. It's so bad that ... Wait? What's that? You mean one of the main means of transmission is sex?! Hold up. We can't just be going around and asking people to keep it in their pants for two weeks to slow the spread or to wear condoms every time they do it ... that's inhumane! People are just going to do it anyhow ...

Funny how the religionists keep stating that sex is inherently good, and the materialists keep saying “religion wants to control you.”

Any discipline is fundamentally about self-control. It’s still control, though.

Remember when there was no such thing as a "paternity test"?

You know, the 1970s?

Also good contraception did not always exist either. Birth control pills date back to 1950.
