Jim Morrison was an incredibly intelligent individual, who was able to see what was going on around him. He liked trying to shake people up, wake them up, make them feel something different...

It was at this point in his Career that he finally had enough, and The Doors would never be the same again.

Where are the pioneers in "mainstream" entertainment speaking the truth and trying to wake people up today? We may never see it again...

How long are you gonna let it go on?

Here is a video with other "highlights" from that night.

Can't you see the wonder at your feet Your life's complete Follow me down Can't you see me growing, get your guns The time has come To follow me down Follow me across the sea Where milky babies seem to be Molded, flowing revelry With the one that set them free Tell all the people that you see It's just me Follow me down

I love the doors, really any band from this era. It was the beginning of the intellectual revolution. (Modern times)

If "The Doors" were to start a band today,
they would be cancelled out before they
could even sign a recording contract.

The music scene of those days is now
an industry of social control.

The airwaves have been strangled.

Don't kid yourself, bands/musicians have always been controlled and used for certain agendas.

John Densmore has done a lot to not exploit his hippy tunes. He went to court and won so his two surviving bandmates can’t turn his music into a Cadillac commercial

Side note. I grew up in LA and went to a house party by myself at pablo manzarek’s apartment in westwood and got way too messed up and puked all over his bathroom. Totally embarrassing. Ruined that friendship.

It was back then, and has been since the dawn of commercialization.

Gotta break the mold, not be a product of someone else. See Trent Reznor.

Whatever.
A family member of mine
was Jimi Hendrix's manager.

In those days it was about making
money while promoting freedom
of expression.

Don't kid yourself.

I will agree with you to a point.
The big networks had restrictions.

Even so, the range of free expression
was much greater than it is now.

Pick up a copy of Rolling Stone just to
see how they have become "The Establishment".

Capisce ?

The Doors suck plain and simple (AWFUL sounds from Manzarek. But that's not what I'm here for). That whole Laurel Canyon scene was littered with murders and a huge amount of death. Flower Power, my ass, the ties to the MIC, Lookout Mountain Labs there, it was all a lie.
