NPR corrects its own fact-check on flu death statistic

Fact-check the fact-checkers, then fact-check the fact-checkers who are fact checking the original fast-checkers.
This is getting ridiculous, we need to have a heart to heart with journalists, stop being activists and stop twisting things into a pretzel just to score some political points.

NPR wrote “the reality so far for the current flu season is about half as severe as the president said,” pointing to a statistic from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention that roughly 23,000 people have died from the flu during the 2019-20 season.

NPR was forced to issue a correction on Wednesday.

“The initial version of this story said the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimated there have been about 23,000 deaths during the current flu season. That figure is at the lowest end of the CDC's estimated range, which extends to 59,000,” NPR added

Just like the fools who ate the fish tank cleaner, CNN had a host actually twist that story into a pretzel so that it seemed Trump was guilty of murder.

Their deceptive story, headlined, “A Man Died After Self-Medicating With A Drug Trump Promoted As A Potential Treatment For The Coronavirus,” did detail how an Arizona man died and his wife was hospitalized after self-medicating.

But the couple did not take the drug in question. Instead, they ingested fish tank cleaner they already had on hand.

Here is a hard hitting quote from an NBC stooge from an interview with the wife of the man who died..

“I was in the pantry stacking dog food and I just saw it sitting in the back shelf and thought, ‘Hey, isn’t that the stuff they’re talking about on TV?’ And it was,” NBC News quoted the woman as saying.

It was not.

“Instead of the drug form of chloroquine phosphate, the couple ingested a chloroquine phosphate product that’s used to treat parasites in fish,” a doctor told Forbes.

Many online warriors here at our beloved ATS forum are loving the initial stories of malfeasance by Trump and his administration and soon after ignore the corrections and continue on and on even after the facts have been corrected.
Taking things out of context and not playing or referencing the full statements are the usual low hanging fruit for these haters.

Unfortunately, I don't see an end to the madness anytime soon.

There are people that truly hate the President and nothing is going to change their mind. I'm content to ignore those people, including the ones on ATS. It's so easy to skip over their posts.

I'm just grateful that I can make up my own mind without have the media drag me by my nose to form an opinion.

If there is a politician that should be held accountable right now, it's Nancy Pelosi. A bunch of others too but we can start with her in the context of Coronavirus.

Some of them have genuine concerns about what the policies are going to mean, in human terms. The list over the past 4 years is quite long, they are definitely suffering from TDS and it is fatal, I have also noticed that the evil element comes out through their hate and it affects their judgement and their physical appearance.

It’s crazy you all look at it as a bad thing that news media corrects itself when it gets something wrong.

No one is right 100% of the time. The big difference between sham news organizations like Breitbart and True Pundit and real news organizations is that Breitshart and the others don’t correct themselves like most other news outlets.

Yet they’re looked upon by right wingers as more truthful.

First of all they were forced to "fact-check their fact-check" and NPR, NBC, ABC, CBS, MSNBC, CNN, The NY Times and so on and so on all do the same thing and when they are forced to correct themselves it is ignored, just like you ignored the Fish Tank Cleaner story in your other posts.
