Doomsday Cults: Why Do People Have End Times Obsessions and Apocalypse Dreams?

I just assume it's because most of these people are probably sick and tired of having to live in the concrete jungle rat race, and instead fantasize about getting back to a simpler way of life with a slower pace where the toil of their hard work gets paid back directly to themselves rather than someone elses pocket.

Sick and tired of working for "the man".
Sick and tired of busting their chops and still struggling from one paycheque to the next.
Sick and tired of government telling them how they can and can't live their lives.
Sick and tired of nosy neighbours who can't mind their own business.
Sick and tired of being a slave to the corrupted system run by the elites.

For some people, the pros of living in a modern day society doesn't add up to all the cons that go with it too.



Myself ?

I happen to like flushing toilets, clean water on demand, hot bubble baths, and the convenience of a grocery store around the corner.

But living in rural blizzard country that threatens 7-9 months out of each and every year, being a "prepper" is pretty much a no-brainer.
