It was never my intention to call anyone 'stupid'. My comments were to reflect the lack of information and critical reasoning the general masses of the republican party seem to be exhibiting, and not to single out any one individual as incapable of learning.

My question for Trump supporters is what specifics policies does Trump promise that makes you feel he will provide the magic answer?

Repeal Obamacare? He can't do that.

The President of the United States has awesome power, but the Constitution does not give the occupant of that office the authority to “eliminate” a law that has been passed by Congress, whatever the voters may think of that law. It is a fairly common rhetorical flourish for presidential candidates to say something like “when elected, I will repeal” a law. But they can’t.

Perhaps you agree with a stern stance on Immigration? Trump has and continues to employ Illegal immigrants.

Example one

Example Two

Example three

You think he is a political outsider with no ties to Washington? Wrong again, he spent millions trying to get Hillary Clinton in his back pocket. He employs lobbyist and he himself has been outspoken and friendly towards many political figures for years.

Clinton, the Democratic front-runner and former New York senator who had some say over policy that could have impacted Trump’s vast business dealings, received donations from both him and son Donald Trump Jr. on separate occasions in 2002, 2005, 2006 and 2007, according to state and federal disclosure records. Story Continued Below Trump has also been generous with the Clinton Foundation, donating at least $100,000, according to the non-profit. Read more: www.politico.com... Hopefully, these are enough examples of his lying, pandering for votes and manipulative practices, but I can provide more.

Hey, the so called uninformed are still on the winning side. lol.

Huh? Where is dem giants brains now?

Not so superior if they lose to misguided low info's, are they?

It is very very funny hearing people like Bill Kristol, George Will and Ben Sasse cry and cry like little children who get refused the latest iphone. These people actually think they some kind of political intelligentsia, yet have completely misread, and hardly ever represent, the people - their bosses. Instead of accepting the direction they have been given and getting on with obeying orders from the people, they are working to subvert the political process. Really disobedient little fellows, all of them.

And yet he has became a billionaire after those failures...that alone says he is successful.

But remember his companies bring in around a quarter of a billion dollars in profit...that really says he is successful.

Just because he failed before doesn't mean he will in the future.

His wealth has accumulated at a slower rate than every other billionaire in the US over the past 30 years. He turned a small amount of starting capital into a billion but he has grown it from there rather slowly.

And how is that a bad thing?

Compared to .com IPO overnite billionaires, sure his money grew slowly. Old school.

Winning does not imply that you are correct, and a majority can have wrong opinions.

Trump has not won the general election yet, and has yet to even run against democrats, so there is no real reason to be talking about 'the giants brains' just yet. My point is the fact that most Republicans or so ill-informed they can not even recognize the difference between an internal critique and external critique. If you are talking about the dissatisfied Republicans as 'dem big brains', then I count myself as part of that group, but I feel Trump won because the majority of Republicans did not listen to what we were saying, or sadly did not agree.

To answer your last question, winning a popularity contest is no indication of intelligence or of moral aptitude because popularity is only an indication of how well a speaker can persuade a group of people they are right, thus it is just an indicator of how well a group can be persuaded by rhetoric. If this is the kind of government you want, a direct demagogue democracy, then don't be upset when you are out voted by the liberal majority, something I want to avoid.

Because it raises serious questions as to his business skills. Usually the more money you have the quicker it grows. It took him 30 years to grow his wealth by 8 times and even that is up for debate because most of his wealth is in the Trump brand which has an entirely subjective value. Other billionaires who are businessmen were able to grow theirs by 30 to 50 times over the same time frame.

The idiot racist pigs who voted for him will be in for a shock when he flip flops on everything that he said to get their votes.

Sorry klansman and neo nazis, but to win a general election in America, you have to gain support from all Americans and not just racist white males in rural areas.

There will be no wall. You had to be of childlike intelligence to believe that crap

By electing a populist silver-spoon-fed buffoon who has no plan, no policies, no experience, no tact…he just says some 2nd grade reading level gibberish that gets all the xenophobes and angry old geezers fired up.

It isn't like this is out of the blue. Trump has been talking on these same points since he was a young man. You can pull up an Oprah show from way back in the day and see him speaking on the same points. As for no plan, etc., he has had plans for years, and they certainly aren't hard to find. Personally, I'm a college educated (Masters degree) white male that isn't quite a geezer. I'm not angry, but I am fed up with candidates who are bought and paid for by Super PACS and our enemies.

The “Trump is so popular because he’s anti-establishment” rhetoric is a weak cop out. 4 years ago Ron Paul was as anti-establishment as you can get, except he actually understood politics, and where was his popularity? Ron Paul went nowhere because he forgot to tap in to the conservative zeitgeist by not being a loudmouth, boorish, xenophobic clown.

Personally, I voted for Ron. Trump is anti-establishment. The fact that the establishment went through SO much trouble to oust him shows that more than anything. They certainly gave it their all, and didn't even mind being exposed in doing so. Ron's problem was the same as other great candidates....lack of exposure. Trump knows that as long as the main message resonates, no such thing as bad press. An idea previously unheard of in politics, but he showed otherwise.

Sure, I wish he didn't talk out of his ass sometimes, but really, I'm more interested to see what he'll do.

As another said, what were the alternatives?

An evangelist....(sorry, but chances of one of these getting elected died out years ago)
A total crook bought and paid for by big business, big banking, and even foreign governments
or a one-foot-in-the-grave do-nothing congressman who botched the VA but wants more socialism

Hmm...do I want to be shot, hung, strangled, or poisoned?

I'll take the poison...I'll last longer...thanks.

Let's see...the Trump supporters I work most closely with at work are: a black man, a hispanic man, two white males, and a black female. Sure, we're all racist pigs. (all with college degrees ranging from Bachelors to Masters)

Even Mexico's President is starting to change his tune on the wall.
Besides, the wall is probably the LEAST important of any of his plans for immigration. The first fix is ending this citizen by birth nonsense that only we seem to do, thereby extending benefits to illegal immigrants who then have a child here for that purpose. Nobody hates immigrants, but you can't lump ILLEGAL immigrants and lawful immigrants together as the anti-Trump crowd is wont to do. We're hemorrhaging money on a grand scale to reward this wanton law-breaking.

They are good at articulating conservative ideas; not so good at putting them into practice and that's why they fail.

It's like all they ever want to do is sit in the corner and grump and complain about what those crazy kids ought to do and never actually see those kids do it.

I'm tired of it. I'd like to see if it can be done at least in part for a change. I might have wished for a better standard bearer, but I'll work with what I have.

After almost 7 years of Obama corruption, lies, and 14 instances of treason, you still feel Trump poses some great threat if elected, and not even having yet seen him in office?
That is greatest expose' of flawed reality I have ever seen.

Your original post is interesting but misses the point.

Like many of the Brexit crowd here in the UK, many Trump supporters have an understanding of how things work. It's a misunderstanding but it's an understanding.

Trump, like Nigel Farage, tells them what they want to hear and reinforce their misunderstandings on deep emotional level. Any attempt to explain how the world works is taken as a personal attack. One can rationalise with the truth but not with emotions.

Take the idea that the MSM has tried to undermine Trump at every turn. The MSM LOVE Trump because every time he opens his mouth he gives them cheap material. WIthout the MSM, Trump would have to rely on much less effective ways of putting his point across. Nevertheless, the idea of a Trump - an East Coast billionaire born into money - as a beleaguered outsider is so personally, emotionally appealing that people will get very het up and give a phenomenal display of intellectual gymnastics to avoid the facts.

This is as true of Trump as it is of Obama as it was of Stalin.

It's also true of that bizarre bathroom law thing. A couple of minute's thought will show why the law is self-contradictory but that same couple of minutes thought is enough to destabilise a fragile world vie: people double down instead.

This is the world we created.

I will concede they are not uneducated but perhaps misinformed, but I feel my point still stands and that you agree with it to some degree.

Sounds like Farage is as bad a Demagogue as Trump.

I would agree, and add that it will be true of Hilliary Clinton or Bern Sanders.

HAHA, I try to explain to people here in NC why HB2 provides no real protection, yet I get no real positive responses. Thanks for the great reply.

No, the greater threat to the way of life of Americans comes with Sanders, who is a Marxist because that's what "social democrats/democrat socialists are... Marxist who lie to their constituents that they will all get paid $60,000 a year, that all will get free college, that all will be rosy, and they he will cure cancer and everything... Then to impose Marxism, democratically of course... Marxism and socialism is all about one small group of people in charge of the executive branch having all power over everything. Socialism/Marxism/communism in general goes agaisnt the Constitution of the United States. Under the guise of "for the collective good" individual rights of EVERYONE are controlled, and suppressed which always leads to the worse dictatorships mankind has ever known.

Then there is Clinton, who states that among other things she is thinking about imposing a gun ban like in Australia... That's another socialist in disguise who 'for the good of all" proclaims the rights of people have to be suppressed.

The only threat that Trump poses is against the elites, the same elites the left-wingers always claim "to be against" yet time and again left-wingers in general side with them.

"Yes please save us by suppressing the rights of every American"... "We want you to save us for our own good"... "But first, take away the rights of every American that doesn't think like us"...That's the motto of most Liberals/left-wingers.

I stayed up late the other night to watch Trump win, after coming form 20 points behind to win by 17. I slept really well afterwards. Excellent rest.
