It's one of those projects that crosses over into a lot of areas I'm not great at. So I get to learn a lot of new stuff, the hard way.

Zynq has a lower entry point device and there is even a sub $100 dollar FPGA card out there! (Or not that line but same manufacturer)

Cool! I am kind of the guitar nerd that would use one for various audio processing but the idea of full motion video encoding and decoding is interesting as well!

Thanks for mentioning your project because now I can get back to the days of me toying with a ZX81 (just found it in closet! So the idea of not knowing what 'peek' or 'poke' is but doing it anyway sounds fascinating! And FPGAs seem like the new thing). Even just a demo model card at 100 bucks would be fun.

A great way to spend a winter!
