For some reason I can't start a new thread in the Breaking News section. So this will have to do.

There are reports coming in that emergency services are attending a Washington DC Police Station following reports occupants were exposed to an unknown chemical odor.

Again twitter.com/breakingnews is the first to report this. Trying to verify it now and find a working police scanner for DC. Any help would be welcome!

Found a online Police Scanner: www.dxzone.com...

Edited to add link to scanner and remove the word "attack" from title. I was getting a bit ahead of myself

Listening to the DC police scanner there is something going on at Mass Ave. Police is diverting traffic 'arround the package'. They are also talking about the 'target location'. Whatever that may mean... not sure if the report about a chemical is true though. Anybody in that area?

Man it is not even October yet....

Keep us updated 56K connections cant hear stream data.

Any word on the type of chemical?

Have they called for NBC suits?

Was it just a traffic accident like a tanker truck spill or a REAL chemical attack?

Some quotes that I got from the police scanner:

"Mass ave is at complete lockdown."

"Divert all traffic at Mass Ave toward package".

Units that are sent there seem to be switching to a different channel that I can't listen to.

Since not everybody seems to be able to listen to the stream here's another quote I picked up:

"I have to run down to hazmat"

Now, these scanners are hard to listen to sometimes and English is not my native language. So please forgive me if I hear other things than that are being said. First I thought they were talking about Mens Ave. Took me a while to figure out it is probably Mass Ave

That's it? Would they refer to that as a package?

Fumes Cause Hazmat At Police Station

WASHINGTON - Three people have been treated on the scene at the first district police station on M Street southwest after a hazmat situation was reported.

Fire officials say fumes from a diesel generator were sucked into the stations heating and air conditioning system and that's what made some officers and prisoners sick.

No one was hospitalized.

"I need to get up some of these streets that are locked down..."

"Can you identify which are locked down?"

"I'll get you the street codes..."

"Is someone notifying METRO?"

"I'm going to possibly need an escort along that Mass avenue corridor..."

why would they have fed's and doh and fbi involved if it was fumes from a disel motor?

good question, could be routine, although a lot of people and branches involved to me..

And if it is Just fumes whats with the reference to a Second package...

And why is this not being reported on the MSM yet?!

A suspicious package has shut down Massachusetts Avenue in northwest Washington as police investigate.
The package was found near the Islamic Center of Washington in the 2500 block of Massachusetts Avenue.
The road is closed in both directions.
Traffic is very heavy in the area.

www.nbcwashington.com...

So "the package" is indeed a package....

Edit to add picture.

Because to chemical odor was caused just diesel fumes, and does not seem to be related to the package that was found at Mass ave, I made an new breaking news article for it: www.abovetopsecret.com...
