It has begun... Iran begins attack on Israel, launches tons of drones towards the country

Maybe Israel will let a few hit in the desert so Iran can save face and tell their people they hit Israel directly. Then in a few weeks we can all forget about it.

That would be nice. Let’s see how it plays out.

Drone vs Iron Dome = no drones.

I think this is probably about getting out of a sticky situation and Iran saving face.

Iranian drones with explosives have infiltrated Israeli airspace in the past. Only an Israeli helicopter inside Israel stopped the attack. That was 1 drone, this could be a 100, along with the missiles the iron dome can easily get overwhelmed like it does quite often with Hamas rockets.

I also just heard they launch some cruise missiles after the drones. Heard on the news so don't know how accurate it is.

100% mate. If the Mullahs have taken the bait then it's all go full on Iraqification time. No more Hezbollah, no more Hamas, no more Iranian threat, no more Iran. They ain't gonna believe what modern technology means until when hits them

There's 2 reasons why they would do this kind of attack:

1. Give Israel something they can easily intercept so there's no serious damage and Iran can tell their people they "responded" but Israel won't feel a need to retaliate. This was basically what they did after the US killed Soleimani. That's assuming they've read Israel's intent correctly though and that Israel won't retaliate even if they intercept all of these drones and missiles. So that could go wrong easily.

2. This is a decoy and more is coming. That could go wrong easily.

Hopefully this doesn't escalate.

I'm watching HYM458 on flightradar24. It seems to be circling tight over the mediterranean just SE of Beirut.

First drones supposedly to arrive in Israel at 1am local, 6pm EST.

Drones? Israel can probably shoot them all down quite easily. Depends how many. A few might get through. Missiles behind, drones acting as a decoy shield? That’s possible but Israel has the tech to track and discriminate. They will prioritise the greatest threats.

Hopefully just a gesture from Iran to placate those rabid enough to believe their hype.

Could go very badly wrong though if coordinated attacks come in from other directions as the drones and missiles get close. Either way this likely won’t cause huge damage and if they’re sensible Israel wont retaliate.
