Mexico confirms arrest of "El Chapo" Guzman

Mexico City, Feb 22 (EFE).- Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto on Saturday confirmed the arrest of the world's most notorious and powerful drug lord, Joaquin "El Chapo" (Shorty) Guzman, saying he was captured by marines during a joint security-force operation in the Pacific resort city of Mazatlan.Murillo said an associate of Guzman's was arrested in the same operation, which was months in the making and "impeccably executed."

Mexican authorities had the "full collaboration of U.S. agencies," the attorney general said.

Well, the worlds richest and most powerful drugs lord has been arrested, again. They got him in 1993, but he "mysteriously" escaped from prison in a laundry truck in 2001, with only seven years left of his sentance.

The guy has a fortune estimated by Forbes to be 1.153.000.00 dollares, and that was three years ago.
Along with his arrest, the operation also took off the streets -

93 assault rifles
63 pistols
2 grenade launchers
1 rocket launcher
43 cars, 19 of which were armoured.

Now, it just remains to see who takes over the business, will the drugs war heat up because Guzmans behind bars and the other family's try to take over his turf?

It will be intesting to see if Guzman stays behind bars this time.
Maybe he'll start to sing about the politicians and police that have protected him.

Intresting video from Mexico, a former bodyguard of senator Mario Lopez Valdez, of Sinaloa, known as MALOVA, speaks out about how the government of Mexico has protected Guzman.
He tells of how in the begining of his time as govenador of Sinaloa, MALOVA met up with Guzman, and his 2nd in command to discuss the protection of Guzmans organisation.
It was there that they apppointed Jesus Antonio Aguiller Iñiguez, as coordinator between the govenador and Guzman.
