FCC Throws In the Towel on Explosive Content Study
Intrusive media survey idea had people riled, but it was doomed from the start .
The Federal Communications Commission has pulled the plug on its plan to conduct an intrusive probe of newsrooms as part of a “Critical Information Needs” survey of local media markets.
However, a revised version of the survey could raise new concerns: that it will trade its now-kiboshed news questions for a demographic survey that might justify new race-based media ownership rulemaking.

I think resentment towards government over reach is coming to the forefront.
As an example the whistle blower in this case was actually appointed to the FCC by President Obama.

The fact we're being told about it is part of their plan.

Could you imagine the response had this idea been pushed when Bush was still in office? Even now, if it were to go thru, would be completely unacceptable should a Republican win the Presidency in 2016.
This is right up there with the Senate Democrats using the nuclear option. Its fine for them right now, but, again, if the Republicans win control of the Senate, the dems are going to throw an ever loving fit over the Republican use of that option.

They are no going to stop because this intrusion and "study" is coming from the white house, as we know the local media is the one that is under attack not the big conglomerate as those already are following their corporate agenda.
All the FCC have to do is withhold licenses on the small local medias when the news are not what the white house wants to have exposed for the public.
