I wouldn't call them 'drills' exactly, but there have been simulations of Flying Saucer landings/crashes at schools, both in the U.K. and the U.S.
of A. Consider them school exercises, if you will. Some object on the ball field is covered up with a tarp and the students are told to imagine it is
a Flying Saucer. They're later told to write about their reactions to the experience. Just a way to engage the student's interest in writing, based
on a subject they happen to find interesting. I know this has happened, because one of these exercises was staged at the elementary school nearest my
home. The local newspaper covered it in some detail, including photographs.
