Traffic brakes for hovering triangle UFO over small New Hampshire town

Searched, looked at the new threads, and even looked at the threads in this forum since Feb 6th, and didn't see it posted yet.

Does anyone know more about this event? It's only about 3 hrs drive from me, and this is the first I'm hearing of it at all.

"You could see three distinct white lights forming a triangle shape with a faint triangular outline that blended in with the sky, but you could tell there was something there."

The witness described the object's movement.

"The object hovered in place for maybe a minute, and then it shot up vertically into the air at an incredible speed, ascending maybe 30,000 feet in half a second. It then made an abrupt right angle turn northerly and disappeared."

ETA: The MUFON case #53945 states

While driving home around dusk we observed odd white lights hovering in the sky at a low altitude maybe 500- 1000 feet. Several other drivers noticed and pulled over/slammed on their breaks, we continued driving however to try to get to a better spot. Upon getting closer to the object, you could see three distinct white lights forming a triangle shape, with a faint triangular outline that blended in with the sky but you could tell there was something there. The object hovered in place for maybe a minute, and then it shot up vertically into the air at an incredible speed, ascending maybe 30,000 feet in half a second. Why no pictures? Everyone & their mum has a camera on them these days.

Don't know about this event but I've seen one with my own eyes, along with a few friends. This was back in the early-mid 90's in the Bay Area of California. It was hovering silently. The government has has these triangles flying for decades.

Can't wait to hear more about it and pictures would be nice. The flying triangle is what brought me to ATS.

From the context of the story, it seems the reporter was referring to the single witness (of the multiples) actually being interviewed here. Simple as that, nothing odd to me anyways.

Shame the witness didn't film it shooting up vertically into the air at an incredible speed , as it is it appears to be a light not doing much .
Perhaps another video of it doing something will follow.

Well, to me it is kind of odd as it say that more people reacted to it by breaking as they saw it, but only one come forward reporting it.

Not everyone think "UFO" when they spot something, as they aparently got scared they could easily come forward reporting something more earth bound.

Here's a similar sounding report of strange lights over Bethlehem, New Hampshire from Thursday 09. January 2014.

Driving north on interstate 93 north between exit 39 and 40 with 3 other family members. Noticed a double hovering light approximately the size of 2 basketballs. I asked if they saw the lights and 3 stated they did, the other person was younger and did not have a line of sight. As we drove north it appeared to hover in place, I assume somewhere between 200 and 300 feet above treetop level. The occupant in the passenger seat had a better view and stated that there was an additional object just adjacent to this object and it appeared to them as 2 long lights, directly next to each other. We pulled off the highway at exit 40 and the object clearly had 3 lights now all of which were evenly spaced forming a triangular shape and was now moving slowly (similar to a higher flying aircraft, but appeared much closer) in an westerly direction towards the town of Sugar Hill. As we witnessed the lights at no time did any of the lights blink, flutter or change.

The video shows it blinking as a plane would. It I believe the naked eye saw it as described though. I saw this fast movement with a bright object once but did not see an outline. It changed directions and went a speed Like nothing I've ever seen. Either these are unidentified or Area 51 has cut lose some of those projects they have been working on.

I'm a little unsure about the uploader. Going through their videos on you-tube channel are a lot of car audio/car electrics videos, a video about LED's bought of ebay (hmmm), a video about a dog watching a ghost (hmmm).
Quite a few doing burnouts.
So, hmmm. The video is very inconclusive. The uploader's motives are a little mixed, are they after fame? It has to be asked due to the large amount of videos they upload, but no other ufo claims so they have that going for them, who knows... Most of the lights appear to fixed to something terrestrial and I'd estimate to be around 100-200 meters from the camera. (Based of relative movements)

The upper most light however that's flashing would suggest helicopter? Toy? Plane? Who knows, it's an inconclusive light flashing.

For me the uploader is fine , no other UFO videos .
I think they did see something as the report I linked above is from a similar sounding sighting from a month earlier , what they saw I don't know though, although I doubt the "shooting up vertically into the air at an incredible speed" part in the OP report.

As it stands it may be worth looking into although there is most likely a terrestrial explanation at the heart of the sightings.

Typical.

"Everyone" saw it, but still no pictures or video of the event. Other than those two short clips showing.....nothing. Flashing lights are underwhelming.

I don't even want to believe. But I do. And would love to be proven right. Instead of more of this.

I wouldn't even say that's a plane, it looks more like an aircraft anti-collision light on a stationary tower.

I always love how a person knows something of unknown size climbed to 30K feet, etc.

Whatever it is, it's underwhelming, and I don't see any triangle as mentioned in the OP, or any spectacular shooting up or right angle turns.

It is generally believed that only a small percentage of UFO witnesses actually report their encounter/sighting.

Why should they, when the media ridicules the subject every chance they get?
