I have been getting calls from a New York area code with a Pakistani sounding person on the other end posing as a GE Capitol Money Loans bank branch claiming I have been pre-approved for a loan. After killing them with logic and being met with vulgar, defensive tantrums, they won't stop calling. Needless to say I made an official complaint of the incident to the FBI website for scams. 646-350-5400
585-318-0510
646-937-9798
585-300-5419
These are all of the numbers that have called me. It makes my blood boil when people try to scam me and take me for a fool.

if you have a pay as you go phone , that means you have to load up some credit before you can call anyone , yes ? .

so your phone will stay connected until your credit runs out , so yes you will lose money on the call .

I've gotten a few myself. One ring and then nothing. I never answer the phone if i don't know the number. I figure, if someone needs me, they can leave a message. If not, screw them. I used to call anonymous numbers back (which were mostly telemarketers), but now I don't (see previous sentence). And I always google anonymous numbers anyway.

When I got the "one ring" calls mine all say Antiqua/Barbados. Red flag much?

Saw the news reports of the one ring scam and it confirmed my suspicions.

A new phone scam is sweeping the country, including East Tennessee.

This made me chuckle.

I always thought Tennessee was a part of the Country.

Peace

Actually 2 countries. .. God's country and Big Orange country.
I've gotten a call too but never return them. Used to be a cruise line would call with a recorded message with a ship's horn blowing.

These people have called my number and my fiance's number numerous times. They always call very early in the morning like 3-5am. Antigua/Barbados is what comes up on the caller id.

Yes, these fckin pranksters are doing it to uk too.... mostly of Asian ethnicity calling from India or Pakistan, they try to get your info by saying they are calling about an accident you've had...

Now that a lot of customer care queries go to India, I wouldn't be surprised to see that people are selling our info on to these scammers!

I dont get charged for these calls though as I never call back. I answer and tell them to fck off.

My vonage and prepaid card phones don't allow these charges...

Sure most carriers can block these charges.

Luck to y'all.
