Knox spoke fluent Italian.

LOL. The very article you linked to specifically says she learnt fluent Italian IN JAIL.....

a language she became fluent in during her four years in Capanne prison outside of Perugia while she battled charges that she murdered her roommate.

While she was being interrogated she was NOT fluent in the language, having only learnt to speak it fluently AFTER the interrogations and when she was in jail.

Talk about a massive FAIL on your part!!

While you're doing your own 'research', learn how to read properly perhaps?

I do see that many Americans are sticking up for her because she is an american.

Maybe you should take it at face value ... that we are sticking up for her for the reasons we said ...
namely that there is NO EVIDENCE and that the judge in this case is a known CRIMINAL who has
railroaded people in the past in order to try to keep his job.

I was in Italy once ... waaaay back in 1991. It was beautiful.
But considering how their so-called 'justice' system works over there now ...
'justice' via gossip tabloids ... I'd be rather nervous to go on a trip there now.

I Those with a predetermined mindset that she is innocent will see no evidence or case against her, whereas those with no view or who believe in her guilt see the actions of someone who is guilty and see the evidence of guilt.

- Those who see she is innocent have been shown no EVIDENCE against her.
- Those who see her guilty are doing so without a shred of EVIDENCE to support their case.
(and no .. 'look at her eyes' - as someone said before - isn't EVIDENCE')

BTW ... I don't have a 'predetermined mindset'. I have no personal interest in the case.
It's just a discussion of something in the news.

You are a complete fool.

Knox was held in prison from 2007. Here trial was in 2009.

I think i am trying to communicate here with a Moron.

Umm, except that the INTERROGATION took place straight after her arrest? It was the INTERROGATION that she could not understand well, as the other poster was pointing out.

Who is the fool now mate?

EDIT: You editted your post to take out the insult and the ridiculous comment. Luckily I quoted your post before you had a chance to do that.

So you are more qualified to pass a verdict differently to that of an Italian court?

Apparently so.

Read up on the Prosecutor - Giuliano Mignini Corrupt idiot.

Amanda Knox and the Tragedy of the Italian Justice System

taly's carnivalesque judicial process, where there is never order in the court, the lawyers and defendants constantly interrupting the proceedings with groans and catcalls and wild gesticulations, while the press in the gallery yammers away like the kids in the back of the classroom. The prosecution's failure to establish motive or intent ("We live in an age of violence with no motive," said one prosecutor). And the fact that prosecutors did not immediately drop the case against Knox and Sollecito after the bloody fingerprints and footprints came back matching a 20-year-old petty thief named Rudy Guede.

Judicial appointments in Italy are made through nepotism, juries aren't properly sequestered, and the courts are in dire need of reform.

REUTERS - Broken Italian Justice System

Statistics like this give a glimpse into a chaotic, byzantine legal system which not only reduces citizens to despair and has senior judges tearing out their hair, but acts as a serious disincentive to foreign companies planning to invest and a powerful brake on the euro zone's third economy.

USA Today - Why Italian Judges Keep Tormenting Amanda Knox

Justice system, born in a police state, protects only itself. Defendants like Knox are just pawns.
So what's going on with this latest Knox verdict? It is essentially a prosecutorial face-saving effort.

Hey, even in Italy (of whichs justice-system you don't seem to have the highest opinion, but that seems to be like throwing stones while sitting in a glass-house) there are interpreters and laws requiring them to any legal trail if needed.

Do you have a link where it says that she (a) didn't speak italian well enough at the trial and (b) that she was denied a translator at the trial?

You must not have watched the whole ordeal.
It was a terrible investigation, based on a lunatic theory, and there was ZERO evidence against knox.

Meanwhile the actual killer (the one tried and put in jail) left his DNA at the scene (he used the toilet and didn't flush and they collected the feces). He had no reason to be in the house.

They have the killer, but they want to to turn this into some kind of orgy that went wrong. It was a rape and murder and they have the killer.

I mean really, it was her roommate and they lived together for quite a while and you think one night her and her boyfriend and some strange dude decided to force the roommate into an orgy?

No, it's obvious she's innocent. The guilty party is in jail and they just want to grab a foreigner and have a salacious story for headlines.

It is a well known fact, easily findable with a Google search, that Knox not only did not have access to a translator at her interrogation, she was also denied access to a lawyer.

Maybe you should take a Degree in Psychology and the signs that can be read into eye contact.
It can determine if a person is lying. As Knox was.

I have a degree in Psychology.

There is no way to look at a person in the eyes and 'determine if a person is lying'.
And I would hope that kind of medievil mentality wouldn't determine if a person was innocent or guilty
and it wouldn't send a person to prison for the rest of their lives.

EVIDENCE. And looking at a persons eyes for signs of telling lies or for signs of evil isn't 'evidence'.

And yes, that's my psychology degree talking.

That sounds reeeaallly unbiased and is so full of faaaactoids -- it is unbearable.

Understand that (a) errors have been made and (b) these errors have been made public and (c) the Corte Suprema di Cassazione is the major court of last resort in Italy.

Don't take those judges for fools or "tools".

Listen up.
There is ZERO evidence against her.
There is plenty of evidence against the guy who is in jail and was trying to get away.

There is no motive for Knox, there is plenty of motive for the guy in jail for the crime.

There is zero reason for you to believe what you believe.

Please give me the evidence against her. She was painted as some black widow seductress when in reality she was a nice reserved girl and her nickname foxy knoxy came from when she was a preteen.

They tried to make her cold and calculating in Italian media, but in reality there isn't even reason to think she did it, let alone evidence to support the notion.

They caught the killer for christ' sake and you still want it to be her?

But according to the Italian courts it was them also. Shouldn't the US justice system respect their findings and help extradite her?.
She has been tried (again) and found guilty, in my book she is a murderer.

In the United States there is a double jeopardy rule for a reason. To prevent just such a thing as a justice system trying and retrying a case until they get a verdict they want.

To extradite her would mean accepting a double jeopardy case as being legitimate.

It is a well-known fact for her parents who stated this in an interview.

If in your book she is a murderer then you are reading a fiction novel.

Instead of trusting a corrupt system why dont you look into the facts. like that there is no evidence (zero) against her, and there is dna evidence against the actual killer who is in prison for the crime.

If you are not guilty you do not tell lies.

themurderofmeredithkercher.com...

Just read it through and come back and tell me she is innocent.

At the end of the day I will not change your mind and you will not change mine that I think she was involved in the poor girls murder, so Iam out no point banging our heads against a brick wall trying to convince each other...

Whilst I am also dubious about the guilty verdict and I am certainly aware of the shocking Italian Justice system, this is not a case of double jeopardy - she had the trial, was found guilty, was released on appeal with conviction quashed, then that too was overturned by Italian courts so now we're back to square one - it is a continuation of the original trial, not a new one.

A double jeopardy would be her being found not guilty and them trying her again with no new evidence just to try and secure a conviction.

And just for info, in the UK we disposed of the double jeopardy rule if new evidence comes to light after the original trial, which makes sense.

Absolutely not true.
I can list a ton of people who have told lies that have put people away or been proven false before they were locked up.
She never confessed. They arrested the guilty party, the only one that left evidence (DNA) there THAT NIGHT, THE MURDER NIGHT!

I don't suppose you want to name what her lie was? Could it be she was seeing another man (she did).

That's not even touching on the language barrier AND the INTENSE interrogation including being hit by the interrogator.

You would lock someone away with no evidence against them whatsoever because of what MAY be a lie?

I wish reasonable people would make these threads so the discussions would be legit instead of arguing to try to make the OP see common sense.

I strongly suggest you read this: www.injusticeinperugia.org...

It makes for a fascinating read and has left me thoroughly convinced that Knox and Sollecito are innocent, and that Rudy Guede alone perpetrated the crime.
