Perhaps he means the use of drones and heavy armed police to take streets and finally confirm the police state once and for all, so we will have to get used to have this type of enforcement in everyday life.

He said he is going to try and prevent mass shootings "with or without congress". Initially I was skeptical because I watched the address, but I also had a girl talking in my ear so I must of missed that part. I'm not sure what conclusions can be drawn from it, but indeed the OP is correct.

Also, I noticed quite a bit of republican support for most of the address, the only time beenie baby was really irked was when he mentioned global warming as fact.

Wow what a long death spiral.This guy is going to crash big and hard,screaming his color all the way,hundreds of thousands of progs weeping. The remaining millions who are more sentient will endure (AGAIN).

The line of thinking portrayed in the cartoon is correct. Some will never ever see it that way though. Law abiding citizens will be the only ones lining up to hand over their guns if restrictions/new laws are passed. The rest of the "criminal society" will just carry on crapping everything up the way they have always done. If they followed laws, well...

Heck, the Constitution gives us the right to bear arms... or is it arm bears? Whatever..... but... as there is a guarantee for guns, what they SEEM to be doing is controlling the ammunition! Good time now to wrap up a couple of weapons and ammo in oil cloth and bury them in an obscure place.

After over 200 years, Americas Constitution as worked Pretty Good for Americans and Obama wants to Bypass it, I understand.

They didn't put the second Amendment in the constitution so you could bury and hide your firearms when the government

I'd didn't say bury ALL your weapons. I said bury a couple. As backup in case of a raid (like is happening in CA) where they come into your house with overwhelming force to confiscate what you have.

Simple prudence. By all means if you have a secondary secure location use that instead. Whatever leaves you in control of at least some of your firearms.

That speaks volumes and I firmly believe that there will be an attempt to disarm the American people at some point so there will be no other way to fight back against anything regardless if it is a corrupt government or a meth addict trying to rob you.

If the battle is lost on the 2nd amendment issue we may as well go ahead and give everything else up with it IMO. We will not stand a chance of keeping any other freedom we perceive we have right now. I can not believe there are so many people willing to let that happen because guns "make them uncomfortable". They can't see the forest for the trees nor the writing on the wall.

The Obama administration is selling fear and the American people are buying it hook, line, and handgun.
