Matt Drudge Issues Warning: “Have An Exit Plan”

So I'm wondering specifically what this could be. We have a bunch of big ticket items on the burner right now. Like the following:

1. China's pending default on the 31st of January.
2. Stock market corrections (downward hard) in the last week.
3. The overall general malaise of the US economy (EBT users, jobs reports, US debt, etc.)
4. Attempted wars in Syria, Somalia, etc.
5. Global unrest in Ukraine, Turkey, Japan - China.
6. Gold moving to Asia by the 100 ton loads.
7. We've got the POTUS going live tomorrow.

I'm sure there's more.

This is all loading slowly for me again so maybe I missed it but could this have anything with the budget renewal next week. They still haven't agreed to a hike (and probably won't) and I believe we are facing another October issue. Maybe not so drastic (default)? I agree with the poster above - in full - we need to watch China.

I'd call the a requirement for an exit strategy. MD May have the inside scoop on an overwhelming Republican victory in the 2014 election cycle.

Why have an exit plan when there is nowhere to go, nothing to do, and no hope of escape.

My advice for when SHTF: go about your day as you normally would, love as you normally would, and enjoy life as you normally would. There is no reason to fret, no reason to fear. When it happens, and goodness knows it always does...you'll never see it coming. Neither Drudge nor your best informant will tell you when the hour will draw near. It will hit, like a thief in the night.

To be honest, there is nothing to be done. Instead of panicking and losing the moment, find the moment and embrace it. Live for now and not some uncertain doomsday tomorrow.

That's the best advice on this thread I believe. When a catastrophe happens it is usually on an idle Tuesday around noonish when no one is looking for it. If everyone took your advice, whatever calamity comes would be minimized by the lack of craziness that most other folks would fall into immediately. But I fear that will not be the case. People freak if Wal-Mart shuts down overnight for a blizzard... God forbid everything shut down for a few days.

Wouldn't that be something? If this is subtly referring to Obama's need for an exit strategy I'd have to wonder what info Drudge had on this. Sure as the sun rises if the republicans hold the House and take the Senate we'll see an impeachment.

So what's a dictator to do, martial law? That doesn't feel right without an economic collapse (or giant natural disaster.) I'm still leaning economic though. The term "Exit strategy" is commonly used by economists, traders, etc.

Military coup? That could provoke civil war. I'd say you'd need an exit strategy for that.

Been happening since the stock market got it's start.

Yeah but it's typically on a ten year cycle. We aren't even close to the next ruh roh year.

One of the reasons the low to mid level players lose out is that they panic at anything, sell things off attempting to staunch the wound by cutting off the arm. It's a waiting game and you have to ride out the bad years too. Of course that's easier said than done if you don't have a lot to fall back on.

As for Drudge... I think he is becoming more and more a doom whore every year. The links to infowars were the last straw for me. Yes, Jones sometimes has a good story that isn't blown WAY out of proportion. He does ask some interesting questions, but I can't take the guy seriously at all. He's got his niche and does an excellent job exploiting people who visit his site by fanning the flames inside a paranoid's head. I'm creeped out by people that seem to believe he's some selfless guy that isn't out to make a buck and as full of it as any other news organization. If you call him Alex you're creepy. Drudge seems to be heading down the same road. The site has turned into clickbait with ridiculous titles (how many times can one person use the word 'shock' on one page?).

Don't really think that's a fair assessment. AJ's articles should be taken like anything else, if they're well sourced it's kind of ridiculous not to review the data. Not saying anyone should watch his videos or anything, just evaluate any articles on merit.

As far as click-bait I disagree. In fact searching his page right now does not even show the word "shock."

I think the best idea is to make friends with neighbors and friends that will be willing to help you make stone soup.

Second things is to purchase a botany book that identifies your local flora and fauna.
