Eric Holder Tells MSNBC: Feds Must Intervene to Stop Voter Photo ID Laws

The Attorney General of the United States has apparently commented on the recent voter I.D. laws passed in some states.

Even though some of those laws have actually been challenged and upheld, Eric says the Federal Government should still intervene to stop the enforcement of such laws...

In an interview that has gotten little notice so far, US Attorney General Eric Holder told MSNBC’s Ari Melber that the federal government should intervene and stop states from enforcing voter ID.

He says;

“Photo ID efforts are done inappropriately and for improper reasons. I think that ought to be the basis for federal intervention.”

Hmmm.

from the interview;

Melber asks, “So when some Republicans say that voter ID is for election integrity, and thus is different than the history of racial discrimination we’ve seen in this country, they may be of good faith but you think they’re wrong.”

Holder replies, “Yeah, there are some who, I think, are coming from a good faith perspective, but I think many are using it for partisan advantage.”

Partisan

The story explains that the DOJ is active in challenging laws in several states right now.

After Indiana enacted voter ID, its law was challenged all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court and upheld. Voting rates among minorities increased. Holder’s Justice Department is currently suing Texas, Pennsylvania, and North Carolina over those states’ voter ID laws. The suits continue despite the fact that Texas’ voter ID law saw its first test in 2013, and voting rates increased across the board.

A strong majority of Americans support voter ID laws, across all ethnicities.

Such a joke. Everyone, I mean everyone, is required to have healthcare which necessitates an ID card and all the intrusive/invasive stuff that goes along with it such as your records being available to pretty much anyone in the government, yet voting, which not everyone chooses to do, would be hampered because one would need to get an ID card? Is this a joke? They think we're fools and we are because we let them get away with this crap.

"partisan advantage"

Hahaha. Does he mean like letting 11 million illegals be able to vote to insure democrat election victories?

I can't even but beer or nasal decongestant without showing ID but Holder has a problem with protecting voting integrity?

I'm shocked, shocked!

When they revoke the Real ID Act, that made me waste 6 weeks of my life collecting original documents, including tax records I've paid on the house I own. Just to renew my existing non-expired driver's license in my State. Then he can open his big fat whiny mouth. Until then, stuff a sock in it.

Just goes to show...being a *legal* have to show an ID for everything American, as opposed to being an *illegal* American has it's drawbacks.

I have to show ID to buy just about anything these days, to walk into many places these days. I want people to have to show an ID to vote for the idiots running for office too!

This is too funny..

Eric H.: "It gives our opponents an advantage when voting is monitored for legality" "So we need to be able to break the law to win"....

If anyone ever deserved a severe beating, it is E. Holder.

This has to be the most bias, whiny, lame ass, ignorant of the facts attempt at gaining an advantage ever. I guess he knows he is out after the next elections...

The Justice Department (Injustice Department?) has become the enforcement arm of a political ideology.

It doesn't matter what ideology. Let me be clear on that. If a republican ideology was using the department in the same manner, I'd be equally disgusted.

But this is nothing but a misuse off authority and abuse of power.

In my humble opinion.

Exactly Beeze. Plus, Holder has so many hands shoved up his..... puppet opening, he's splitting at the seams.

I can't wait until he is replaced by some other puppet that doesn't use the race card as his ticket to change, enact, and break laws as he sees fit. Or, as whatever hand shoved up him, sees fit.

Obviously, in order to make sure that only citizens vote, some kind of ID verification is required.

Otherwise, I could waltz in and claim to be my neighbor, and then waste his vote. Then go later on dressed a little differently, or send in a relative, and say that I am me. Seriously, this is a NO BRAINER.

I typically do not play party politics, as both parties are guilty of treason IMO, but the Democrats are getting pretty darned desperate if they need to make it easier for people to cheat the voting system.

The Department of "Justice" has become a sick joke since Holder was put in charge of it.

The way Holder and his handlers want it, is they can bus in strings of charter buses of voters through precinct after precinct, feeding them box lunches along the way, until the person they want to win has the numbers stacked in their favor.

In school, I was taught this is *cheating*. Now, it's just called progressive politics, and I'm a racist if I don't like it.

Never.

Amazing isn't it.

I've even had a campaigner suggest I vote twice in 2008 because I had an absentee ballot from my home town. I could have registered in a different county and voted twice.

I am convinced voter fraud happens. In a land where it is illegal to get a beer without an ID card, it is also illegal to check someone's ID before they vote. And some people wonder why our government does not represent it's people.

Exactly.

And, as I have said many times across many forums, a tax revolt because of taxation without represenetation would get some attention, wouldn't it?

Sad thing is, people keep on keepin' on, and doing nothing except accepting the status quo, so Holder, Obama, Reid, and Pelosi, et al keep getting away with what they get away with.

As long as they have other peoples' money, and no one on the WH steps to worry about walking past, they don't care.

It won't change until something gets their attention, like a big, big crowd that refuses them their cookies and milk. (Money).

Until then, expect more of the same.

Personally, I don't see it changing, ever, because of their tactics, Dems will forever win the elections, now. That's why they are setting things up the way they are.

They are cheating, getting away with it, and being supported by the Feds. What a freaking wet dream!

And meanwhile, in fantasyland, the few pissed off people like us sit at their keyboards and gritch about it.

Are we gonna DO anything about it?

(crickets)

Yeah.

Seeing as having valid ID is a requirement to REGISTER to vote, it seems amazing to me that people can actually vote in the USA without ID.

In every other country in the world, ID is required when you go to vote. And please don't try to dispel this by saying "but the USA isn't every other country" - that's a ridiculous argument.

If I go to vote for my local city council, I'm asked for valid photo ID. NO ID = no vote.

For all those who say "poor people don't have ID" consider this. For all of the following, you'll need a valid photo ID

* Cash an unemployment / welfare cheque
* Register for food stamps
* Register for Social Security / Medicare / Medicaid
* Obtain assistance from the local food bank
* Buy a Gun
* In some instances, buy liquor or cigarettes, or in WA and CO, pot
* Visit a doctor

and many, many others. It's almost impossible to function in modern day life without ID.

The cognitive dissonance is astounding.

They can ask for ID for everything but voting.

And that effects that so called 'disinfranchised' more so.

But, don't you see!? That's one of their excuses! Look at California!

They are giving all illegals drivers' licenses, so by default, they are registered to vote, citizen or not, legal or not! MotoVoto, baby!

Then, to top it all off, if an illegal gets pulled over, has no license, insurance, etc., and any infraction that would normally result in their vehicle being impounded, they are not allowed to impound their vehicle, because it may cause a "hardship", because they may not have the money to get their vehicle out of impoundment!

F the rest of us, who may be unemployed or "schtrugglin'", to quote the Missus. They gotta keep them Dem potential voters unhindered, by God!

And, to top THAT off, thats now a "silent" rule in many locales, including where I live. Illegal? Breaking the law? Best to let 'em go.

Get the money from the working individuals, who get screwed and tatooed.

This country is in deep, deep trouble.

And to address this seperately, you have another great point.

Instead of busing people around to register the votes, bus people around to get their free state I.D., which every state provides, and get them registered! But, see, instead of doing the right thing, this wouldn't allow them to cheat!

If they can't cheat, the Dems can't win!
