You can catch some fish in a number of ways. Make a trap with sticks in the shallows among reeds. Some species of fish come into the shore in the
early mornings and evenings to feed on insects and other amphibians that live amongst those plants.. Get some sticks or rocks and build a coral. Make
a Q shape the opening being the dash of the q This will take time and patience, you will have to try a number of spots. The idea is the fish will
enter your coral to look for food and you can literally make your way to your coral and catch them in the shallow coral you have made. Keep in mind
this pond will have to be somewhat large, and you will have to block the opening before you attempt to grab them. You can obviously find and add bait
to your coral to entice them in.
You can make other more elaborate traps as well with sticks, or reeds. But they require bait. You will make an cylinder, with one end closed, the
other with a small opening with sticks going into the trap. The idea being the fish can swim in, but not out.
Again these traps need bait and have to be placed some where the fish can get in.
You can also catch some fish with simply a hook and some string. It all takes patience, most places you find fish you can also find the food they are
eating. Nothing works better to catch a fish than the food they are used to eating. They are less cautious about it and more willing to take it if
they are hungry. This is why certain lures, flies and bait work better in some lakes, rivers, streams and ponds than others.
As well, some fish will literally eat anything, people used to catch fish with nothing but a stick, some kind of line, and a hook alone.
