Doomsday Clock - 5 minutes and counting....DOOM PORN!

I remember when the clock moved to 3 minutes in 1984 - it was a big story on the evening news, back in the days when we knew the Soviets could launch their missile any time and pub conversations revolved around what you would do in the 4 minutes warning you (supposedly) had ...... Don't hear much talk like that these days!

I think the only way that the Doomsday Clock will accurately predict anything is if there's an absolute lunitard out there watching and waiting for the thing to strike midnight.
I agree with the previous poster...it's very concept is a product of the birth of the nuclear age.
It was only ever meant to be a distraction and carries no practical signifigance outside of causing fear, illiciting the effect of getting the citizens to support a corrupt state against their better judgement.
At least this is how I see it.

I have a metal pole in my grass. The closer it is to the sidewalk the weirder people are on ATS. It's been getting closer every year.
