Okay, I'm not to familiar with this dude, I'm sure some of you are. He's saying aliens have been visiting for much of human history.

“Something dreadful is going to happen to it if we don’t smarten up and change our ways,” said Paul Hellyer, who served as defense minister in the 1960s. He’s the first top official from a G8 nation to claim that extraterrestrial life has been confirmed, and he discussed his beliefs Tuesday on Russia Today.

Hellyer went on to say up to 80 different species regularly visit earth, from the “short grays” seen in cartoons and illustrations to species called “Nordic blondes” and “tall whites” who could almost pass as humans.
He claimed the “tall whites” are working with the U.S. Air Force in Nevada, and that two women from that species had dressed as nuns and went to Las Vegas to shop.

Nuns, Vegas? I dont know how to take this yet, So I figured to post up to ATS for a discussion.

This video is 26 minutes He talks further into his claims of visitation of aliens.

They come from all over the galaxy — including from Venus, Mars and Saturn’s moon, Andromedia – and other star systems, Hellyer said. He said all but perhaps one or two of the species were benevolent and wanted to help humans, but they’re bound by a code of conduct from doing so. “They have rules (and) one of the rules is that they don’t interfere with our affairs unless there are invited to – and that’s one of the reasons, probably, that we haven’t seen more of them until very recently,” Hellyer said. He said military investigators had found strong evidence that at least four species had been visiting earth for much of human history, and he said their visits had become more frequent since our discovery of atomic technology.

Bound by a code of conduct? Obviously their far more advanced then us, Would they adhere, to a code of conduct? Do they truly want to help? Is this story bogus?

“We have a long history of UFOs and of course there has been a lot more activity in the last few decades, since we invented the atomic bomb, and they are very concerned about that and the fact that we might use it again, and because the cosmos is a unity and it affects not just us but other people in the cosmos,” Hellyer said. “They are very much afraid that we might be stupid enough to start using atomic weapons again, and this would be very bad for us and for them, as well.” He said the aliens had accepted that humans had a right to run their own planet, although they were concerns about our stewardship of it. “We spend too much time fighting each other, we spend too much money on military expenditures and not enough money on feeding the poor and looking after the homeless and sick, and that we’re polluting our waters and air and that we’re playing around with these exotic weapons, thermonuclear weapons and atomic weapons, which have such a devastating effect on our earth and our cosmos, and they don’t like that,”

If he is BS, whats his motive? Try to change military spending? (good luck) Pollution, homeless, exotic weapons, try and curve the incline of these issues? Whats up ATS? Anyone familiar with Hellyer? I'll search more on him now. Lets hear your thoughts, I'd like to hear.

He does have a few youtube videos, I'm watching now. So discuss, If you like..

Hmmm...when you hear of people in power like a defense minister and other officials saying stuff about aliens you have to wonder....what kind of nuts have we got in charge of the countries in the world.
It's either that or maybe there are aliens.

If there are aliens, why haven't any of them come over to my place for cookies and coffee. I guess I am not on their repair list. Maybe if I call them and tell them that I am not blind anymore, they will send a repairman.

It would be good to get to know one or two. I wouldn't think they would be here if they didn't have the technology to know when there was a threat of a nuke going off somewhere. That would be a really good thing to know.

Where in Hell is "Andromedia?"

I have always had the impression that Hellyer came from a time when military brass weren't the particularly sciency types. It also seems he always refers to, and places his beliefs in aliens based on stuff that is already in the public domain rather than confidential military sources. My hunch is that he is just another enthusiast who uses his title to add weight to his opinion.

The fact he claims they come from Venus, Mars and Saturn's moon (which moon Saturn has several) is confirmation the man is a nutter.

The blinding I talk about is the blinding caused by social conditioning.

Pretty much this guy just reads a bunch of books and regurgitates what he reads in them. There is not a UFO story he doesn't like or believe and nowhere in anything he mentioned does he -ever- refer to having seen anything in his capacity as former defense minister of Canada to support any of these wild tales with evidence.

People should ignore this guy until he says something having to do with his own involvement or presents evidence in support of his opinions.

The only reason people listen to him is because of his former position. He's no different than any number of people duped by the books that are out there which tale fanciful tales but have little in the way of evidence to support them.

IMO of why Aliens hate nukes is that we wiped out ourselves. And they wouldn't have any gratification of wiping us out them selves.

Could not have put it better myself.

The Man is that gullible it isn't even funny anymore. He even states that everything He learned was AFTER he retired :IE He read some "out there" books and spoke to some equally "out there" people and decided to jump on the disclosure bandwagon

Yeah he just talks about research he's done personally. He didn't really share any inside information. Just because he used to be a defense minister doesn't mean anything. He hasn't been one in several years. I could find all that info he spouted out as "fact" anywhere on the web, but remember just because it's on the net doesn't mean it's true. But that's just my opinion

Right on. I see your point. But if they hit us now, Would gain some gratification? Still fairly populated, and possibly, valued resources, also. But, If we get to it totally, before them, C'est la vie

I'm wondering what the big deal is even if this is true. Quote; they come from all over the galaxy and yet they go to Vegas to shop.

They sound just about as lame as we are as a species, all priorities in the toilet.

Well we still have more to learn, but we understand quite a bit about Mars. Enough to know it's been a dead planet for billions of years, and the timeframe for it to have supported life was very short, so any life that once lived on Mars would never have been intelligent.

Venus is 900 degrees F and the pressure is 100 times greater than Earth. Incapable of supporting life.

This guy is a quack.
