They then set to work, swearing everyone to secrecy, hiring a Hollywood location scout to find "the perfect field in Northern California," and flying in a British group who have made crop circles before. A crudely made video also popped up on YouTube purporting to show two men -- in reality, Murray and another NVIDIA employee -- getting out of a car and looking at strange lights coming from the farmer's field and then stumbling toward them. By the morning of December 30, the news trucks were rolling in and, with them, throngs of curious onlookers. The company hired security to keep them from trampling over the farmer's fields.

Interesting. But the article says nothing as to how they layed this thing out or made it. All we need is every kid in the country going out and making crop circles. The farmers won't be impressed.

That's simply one company who used a pop culture symbol to market itself.

I am not going to think that every crop circle was made by hoaxers because there are just way too many throughout history. Some of them are very pretty, I like to look at the pictures. One has to be incredibly creative and talented to make them, but if they are all human made, then those humans are guilty of trespassing and destruction of private property.

Not everything is a hoax, but while there may be many crop circles that are, you have to admit it takes a lot of guts to sneak into someone's field and create these designs that you know takes more than just a few hours of night to do it in. And they are somehow never caught, even though pulling this off takes communication.

I think it would be a good idea to ask why these people are never caught.

I still think many of the elaborate crop circles are a military satellite weapon being calibrated.

Somehow those questions never get answered, even though we are always told "a group of hoaxers did it". Well, who are these people, how did they do it, and how did they not get caught? If I were a farmer and my field was trampled like this, I would be finding out who did it.

But alas, somehow the hoaxers never get caught.

I think the fact that someone actually saw them making the circle would have given the game away.

This was in the original report of the circle but Linda Howe who then re-reported it left out the important details and like always all the crop circle lovers didnt question anything and ran with the half truth ..

Harry Johnson, an 85-year-old retiree who lives about a mile from the field, may have seen evidence of the crop circle makers.

Over the weekend, he said, he and his wife saw five or six people and a few vehicles at the field on successive mornings. On Sunday morning, he said there was a 30-foot ladder leaning against a pole near the field.

"It was just a little unusual," he said. The people at the field weren't dressed in typical field clothing, so Johnson figured they may have been inspecting something.

Then on Monday he saw the crop circle story breaking on television."

As for how to make a circle like that there are many videos on the net on how to do it.

Why would NVidia make a crop circle, is it a new advertising? They should make their product more compatible with youtube, and Java should as well.

You would think if these companies were that creative, they would find a way to get over the 2 Second youtube bug.

I believe we had people on ATS who right off figured out it was braille and the number.

To me this stinks, it is one more of the hoaxes that perpetuate lies and hide the truth so that people do not know what to believe. It sickens me that today people who perpetuate lies and hoaxes are often applauded as though they are heros of a sort, there was a time when only stupid children did such things.

Too many intricate designs to be just a couple of guys.

They're found around the world, so it seems there would be some kind of club to train others how to do it.

I wonder how much money it would take to hire a shill ?

Here is something alternative for an explanation

Now, the entire crop circle contains three coded messages according to renowned crop circle researcher, Dr Horace Drew. According to Dr Drew, a retired molecular biologist who worked at Caltech and Australia’s CSIRO.


One of the coded messages was to be vigilant about an upcoming astronomical event. The next message referred to a date in the near future when an astronomical event is to occur by July 8, 2014. The third message was that comet ISON was a space transportation system under intelligent extraterrestrial control with a specific mission for the inner solar system and Earth.

The first message, the Braille code was quickly interpreted as a series of numbers and letter: 192-192-2-192-1-192-192 and can be translated as: “The blind will see, and those who seek will find.”

The second message is an outer code featuring three tall poles accompanied by numbers using Morse code. The message was 3-space-3-space-1 and referring to an event timed to occur in the near future: “we should go around the “polar clock” by three full turns until some “event time” is reached.”

The date referred to by the number 192 in the main coded message is July 8, 2014, which is 192 days from December 28. Significantly, the alignment of planets on July 8, matches the crop circle configuration of celestial bodies.

The third message is an inner code again using Morse code. This message refers to comet ISON.

Dr. Drew translated the code as: E-T B I-S-O-N S-T-S.

ET – B(e) - (extra-terrestrials exist)
ISON – (comet)
STS – (Space Transportation System)

The three planets seems to marked hourly times: 1-2-9 along the face of a polar clock. The overall imagery used at the crop circle was that of a “polar clock.” This “polar clock” shows a “bright, long-tailed comet” as the predicted astronomical event and might be to suggest that some important astronomical event (e.g. a “bright comet”) will first be seen at 12 midnight in Earth’s sky, at some particular place (London?) and on some particular date.


Coincidence: The illuminati card ‘Combined Disasters’ shows the Big Ben in London.

One part of the Morse code (“E-T B”) also shows a fair resemblance to a five-body alignment of four planets and the Sun in early January of 2014, including as a sixth body, any remnants of comet Ison along its last known orbital path.

Thus we can see Mercury, the Sun, Venus, Earth, any remnants of comet Ison (ISON = STS), and Jupiter all aligned in a heliocentric perspective over the early part of January 2014.

So could the Salinas crop circle refer to an upcoming extraterrestrial event connected to the remnants of Comet ISON, which was no comet at all?

We will have to wait and see in the months ahead, and the possible July 8 date, whether an astronomical event occurs that settles once and for all the true nature of comet ISON and whether an extraterrestrial intelligence was behind it.

I can see that. This circle mostly consists of circles and squares which is easy to lay out with stakes and strings.
Why don't we ever hear of anyone going out to the exact center of any circle and looking for a stake hole in the ground? If it's man made then there will be one in the center of every circle and at the corner of every square. The case would be closed.

I think mainly because the so called cereologists are not that interested in disproving anything. They would rather stand in the center with some dowsing rod and claim there are paranormal forces at work than do any serious investigation. Linda Howe who originally re-reported the story to the rest of the world didnt even mention that people were seen making the design and she is supposed to be a world famous UFO investigator.

It would be quite easy to simply kick a hole a few times and make it vanish as they use very thin polls.

But looking at the design i can see how they could have made it with out using polls and markers. You create the outer circle first and then the square inside by measuring the circumference and splitting it up into 4. There the rest of the design is made using the circle and square as reference points.

Just because Nvidia has claimed the making of the crop circle does not mean it is not an encoded communication from the real circle makers.....sometimes people who make crop circles are guided to make a circle with specific clues in it, and in a specific location, that on the surface may seem mundane but are later shown to have a potentially non-human influence. The Chualar circle is part of a map alignment that seems to point to more of an omniscient intelligence which, although hard to comprehend, does seem to be reaching out to engage human beings in a conversation of sorts...and part of that is just letting humans know that they are indeed there and influencing the crop circle phenomenon - even when on the surface it is not immediately apparent.

Okay I get it... it was all a marking stunt... d'oh...

So I'm still a bit fuzzy on one thing...
