You would think that if anyone were actually capable of visiting the present from the future, they might leave some trace. They might let slip some
reference to persons or events that will not take place until later on. These references would almost certainly find their way on to the internet,
wouldn't they? Well, some physicists decided to "google" references to Pope Francis and Comet ISON to see if some time traveler slipped up and
blogged about them before they happened. You can find the results here:

It was a small study, of course, but the results are suggestive. Given that none of John Titor's predictions have ever come true, it seems highly
unlikely that real time travelers ever post on the internet.
