Weird!
USGS wasn't showing the 6.2 even!
Had to change to all magnitudes before anything after the 8 would show up!
When I switch back to 2.5 +, they disappear again!!!

On the other thread, there is a map of the energy release. I'd guess they are just watching to see what is going to happen. It looks like the energy spreads all the way to Alaska....

So, in order of probability from your QHS Quake Hunch Sense . . . what are the 3 areas you suspect may let loose first and mostest with a 7.0 and/or above?

I happen to be of the opinion that GIVEN ALL your pouring over such massive amounts of data for so long

Actually in the past few months I have not had my head buried in as much data as normal because my stress calculator got broken and I have not had time to fix it. I do look at global data but have not been monitoring specific areas for a while. In addition I have had my head in other interests, mainly the Mayo Male Voice Choir of which I am a member and we have a concert coming up in two weeks time, and I have to write an estimating program for someone so I have been a little bit busier than usual. You could say about three points past frenetic which is the normal pace.

Never the less my 'guess' is Chile high 7, lo 8 in April and either preceded or followed quickly by low to mid 7 in Santa Cruz/Vanuatu - looking at around April 21 just because there is more often one around that date than not. Since I am never normally right those areas should be pretty safe around then

Remember also that IEVPC are saying Philippines during 2014, but I have not investigated their reasoning.

This is the moment tensor. It is showing a very shallow fault plane angle, only 14 degrees "steep"---so, basically flat, like one sheet of paper sliding over another. Only this involved massive tectonic plates.

I only hope the distance from shore was enough to dampen the worst of the shaking.

Wow! Did you ever call the Chile 8.2! Well done sir...when I got the USGS notification on my phone, I thought of YOUR prediction. I lurk (read here) almost daily--just learning, as I have nothing to "add." But I have to "add" to your that your extra busy time slows...best wishes for your performance, and my late mother's family were ALL from County Mayo, Roscommon to be exact.

Just to add: The warnings have been cancelled according to CNN. If you check the Noaa Buoy site. The buoy's themselves are still active. Which from what I have observed and learned in other situations is normal. Wave's still exead a certain height

Hi family!

I am up late watching and reading about all the technical information on quakes in general, specifically the Ring of Fire. This peaked my interest with the uptick in 4.5 + quakes in southern California, the Oklahoma swarm, and yesterday's 4. at Yellowstone. Couple this with tonight's 8.2 in Chile...

Question: Is there a possible connection with the recent Washington State landslide?
