Mercury by itself isn't that interesting.
Red mercury however is apparently used for nuclear weapons and guided ordnance as well as lot of other classified stuff, plus it's expensive. I've never heard of a mercury antenna but I know it's conductive, enough to disrupt air traffic though?

Don't play about with mercury, it's toxic.
