I have always enjoyed the threads where a member here at ATS sees something beautiful in the world and shares it with the rest of us here. Take a moment and pull us out of the mess that is the world around us and show us a lovely flower that has emerged from the filth.

Today I bring you just such a flower in the form of a lovely young lady named Lindsey Sterling. Lindsey is perhaps most known for her crushing defeat on Americas Got Talent when Piers Morgan likened her violin playing to the sound of rats being strangled. Sometimes a damning instance like this can be just the thing that awakens our inner spirit to go out there and catch our star and that's just what Lindsey has done.

Lindsey has since launched a very successful YouTube channel where along with the help of director Devin Graham has produced some amazing videos on a shoestring budget. Additionally Lindsey has had multiple US/European tours and has established quite the following.

Lindsey says at age 5 she begged her parents to get her violin and dance lessons and I think you will agree - it paid off. More recently Lindsey appeared with John Legend in the video "All of me" so her star is definitely on the rise, but where she really excels are in her originals. I rarely have found someone that can transform a feeling into such a show of art but this is one of those times.

Lindsey has an upcoming tour in 2014 and happily will be making an appearance in New York so I look forward to seeing her there. I encourage you to check out her very reasonably priced tour calendar and catch her in a town near you.

Enjoy the following taste of this exceptional talent and if you like this I must also recommend, Crystalize, Elements, Song of the caged bird, and Spontaneous me.

And of course I cant get the imbed to work.

I like this girl.
I enjoy a variety of music and she's in my list.
I saw a clip of her on one of those star/idol shows where the judge told her she'd not be any good on her own and had to join a band if she wanted to be a success.
I'm glad artists and musicians have the guts to ignore sound advice.

She is really very good on her own.

But she collaborates too.

Cool stuff, I didn't know what to expect, but I was surprised! I thought maybe she'd be packin' a nine, and throwing gang-signs inbetween fiddle-licks

Just kidding, hip-hop must be seperated from gangsta-rap, and this girl is an excellent artist! I love it when musicians do style-fusion and it actually sounds good, and this girl does it!

No intent to stray off topic, but if you are into hip-hop and fusion, I recommend the group, '21 Pilots,' and their debut album, 'Vessel.' It is a really cool mix of hip-hop, indie and power-pop. Hands down, it's my favorite album of the year (next to HIM's 'Tears on Tape,' but that's nothing like hip-hop).

Love her music! One of the best combos of classical and modern that I have ever heard! She is a prodigy as far as I am concerned.

Thanks to the teens my son is friends with for introducing her music to an old fart.

I don't know if I would call her hip hop per se but I like it a lot. I think fusion is a better description. I think the world is ready for this we need beauty more than anything right now.

Yes, she is awesome. I first found her due to performing the Skyrim theme with Peter Hollens:

They also did an amazing Star Wars Medley

A buddy of mine is fanatical about her. He plays skyrim and her translations of the music from the game captivated him from the first note. She has talent, there's no denying that. She has a creative spark that lends a standalone beauty to her work.

She has something of the young Kate Bush about her in looks and individualism.

I actually forgot about her - do remember seeing her on "America's Got Talent", back when she was on it. A couple years after that, I ran into the Skyrim bit she did with Peter Hollens - Not only was I enjoying the music, but I fell in love with the orchestral version of "Elements". She's within the top 10 artists on my list. Woodkid,Two Steps from Hell, and Audiomachine beat her out though.

The only sad part to all of this is that all of her songs got stuck in my head - and the trumpet can hardly reproduce the music :'( . Guess I'll have to wait until my violin skills get better.
