Hi, atheist definitely, but also humanist, socialist (traditional), feminist (aargh), sociologist, psychotherapist, mummy, wife, daughter, em what other labels do I own?.. tattooed old punk, psychobilly, Pict, pacifist, heathen.

Go with heathen, it has the best ring to it. Honestly, call me what you like, I really don't care. I don't mind other people's labels either, as long as we can talk together for a while.
There's a lovely book I read once by an Irish therapist who said our hope throughout life is to 'be met as a person', and that is what I try to do with every relationship I have.

Hope this helps, wildtimes.

Hi twin!! Great to meet you! I have to say that most of my favourite posters are on this thread already, and a very diverse bunch too. I like what you're doing here, it's a very restrained and respectful offer rather than an in-your-face response, to challenge stereotypical thinking.

Anyway, I'm going to put The Cramps on, full volume, and start wrapping prezzies! Woohoo!

I agree, ppl should learn how to read. One good way to sum up atheism, I will use an old hindu philosophy to illustrate my point. "we are all grasping for an elephant in the dark." The elephant is truth for all who aren't familiar with this topic.
Now a christian may "grasp" the tusk, and the hindu may grasp the tail, and the the buddhist/muslim/satanist..etc may grasp another PIECE of the elephant/truth.

to the atheist, there is no elephant. You must also remember the beauty of individuality, to the christians' "PERSPECTIVE," their portion of the truth is right to them, but so is the buddhist's/muslim's/etc's. To my perception of the universe, or i should say "my" universe, there is no elephant. there is no right or wrong, good or evil, only ppl's perception of such duality. I think, therefore I AM....who else said "I AM," oh god/s did.

Since I AM, and I have control of my actions/thoughts and my PERCEPTION of reality and how others "PERCIEVE" me to an extent...I am god, and so is tommy and suzy..ect. I'm really tired of waiting for humanity to wake up and realize thier potential.

You know what, YOU DONT NEED GOD, you are god. I;m not being arrogant, which many theists will probably think, but hey, go ahead and think in your little box.

I actually hate using the word "god." We are all brothers and sisters of the SAME LIFE FORCE. What one man can do, another can also. WAKE THE F@$# UP AND EVOLVE.

I agree with ur sig bc i absolutely have faith in humanity, however hard it may seem from time to time, lol.

we need to wake up and stop the hate and indemnity between us. we are beyond all "supposed separations," all of which are our creations. oh and sorry to al that this is berbish channish's husband, imma just creat my own account tonight.

I have existed from the morning of the world and I shall exist until the last star falls from the night. Although I have taken the form of man, I am all men as I am no man and therefore I am God.

Brothers and sisters, I implore you to take heed to these words, shake yourselves free of the fetters of this crude matter called flesh. The corporeal is finite and imperfect, the mind can and will conquer the physical, only if you free your mind can you attain perfection.

It IS within you and without you, all together yet separate. Remember, there is no elephant, yet there is. All are a part of the same consciousness. EVERYTHING is sacred, every form of life. To kill or pervert one life is to kill or pervert a part of yourself.

Observe Descartes' experiment to support "I think, therefore I am." He was able to separate his mind from his corporeal self, yet was unable to imagine no consciousness or no mind, bc to do so you would simply cease to exist.

This was a profound revelation to Descartes, and to the western world. Now these concepts were not new. Siddartha Gotama (Buddah) and many other eastern philosophers realized this.

Brothers and sisters, I beg you to ask yourself these questions based upon your perception of truth. 1)Where does your truth derive it's authority. 2)How does your truth a/effect all life.

I beg to differ. According to this atheist, there's gotta be a door somewhere, so leave the poor elephant alone and help me find the damn thing!

I dont know you, but based on your response, you strike me as an agnostic. Only you can find the elephant, no one else can do that for you. However other ppl can most certainly guide you. It is ultimately up to you to decide when/where/how. If you have any particular questions, I would be more than happy to provide insight, as I'm sure other ppl on this thread would also.

I dont think you fully understood my point. Maybe I poorly illustrated atheism, but i was trying to explain it to the many theists that were hating on those of us who have the courage to say we dont know, or we refuse to buy into tht sort of dogma.

Infinity, also read my other posts on this thread, some were as berbishchanish, and the others as adeptofamenti(all other posts will be as the latter) they will most definitely shed more light on what you seek.
