Not sure what you are expecting

But in almost ALL the rules on here, it is explained that everyone is a member first

I am posting as a Member

Badly perhaps, but a Member no less

I have hope the Moderator comment was not a "Strawman" argument

You know.. Attack the position not the post.. I wonder why?
edit on 12/16/2013 by semperfortis because: (no reason given)

I suppose i was just expecting a little more effort then "thats so yesterday" when i have a completely valid point...

Do you feel you can set limits on your God?

If so... Thats mighty bold

You also feel that you can tell someone their going to a mythical place where in they will burn and be tormented for eternity... Even though your lord said do not condem others

I mean... To each their own i guess

That is such an old argument and to quote a teenager "So yesterday"

No real need to answer that which will not move us forward

I expected a better answer then that from a moderator...

Sigh

Oh well... The hell arguement is pretty much old as the hills as well...

Two dead end streets i suppose... Tragic you lost a friend because you choose to condemn him though

I think condemnation is where the problem may be misconstrued. If a christian believes another is going to hell so to speak it should not be a condemnation but instead merely resignation to Gods supreme judgment and will. I think atheist or other non-believers take it as a personal judgment rather than a statement of doctrine.

Semper perhaps if you explain you are not judging your friend but are merely acting in accordance with your faith in regards to judgment they might understand.

Then again it might just be one of those things best left unsaid. Perhaps some of us here can learn from this and realize we should not speak about judgment as it is not in our hands.

I'm sorry but I have really only read the Bible a few times in a few languages.. I have no idea where you say God said He will become ALL????

Again

Dumb cop here

I CORINTHIANS 15:28 And when all things shall be subdued unto Him, then shall the Son Himself also be subject unto Him who put all things under Him, that God may be all in all.

While the haters, yeah I use that word a lot but it fits, would have you believe that stating an opinion is judging , the Bible is clear on that point

"Thou shall not judge" is NOT stating an opinion for goodness sake

I suggest some good old remedial reading is in order..

LMAO

Nope

A more accurate translation of that is

"who gave his Son authority over all things, will be utterly supreme over everything everywhere."

Says the same as God has dominion over all, just this translation is more word specific and easier for us to understand in English

It is judgement...

What its saying is regardless of that persons actions in life... They will burn only because said person does not believe the same thing as the other person.

Meaning that belief is authority because a book says it is....

I love how Christians always try to sidestep their judging of others...

Highly amusing. LOL

That is the definition of...

To judge someone is to form an opinion of them without knowing everything about them...

Okay...which is it - "dumb cop" or Bible expert? Maybe I'm off the mark, but you seem to waffle between apology and opinion. Throw this one aside, but I have 76 more Scriptures I can easily copy & paste, which indicate that all men are saved.

If your book is the American Standard Dictionary

As I was speaking in biblical terms, your meaning is useless

Sorry but MASSIVE fail there

You can throw them all around all you like

All that matters is that Jesus came to change it all and he said

John 14:6
“I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."

That is the only one that matters

Nah I disagree. It is nothing more than an affirmation of doctrine which states that no one comes to the father but through Jesus as Semper stated. The friend might as well have asked "Can I get to heaven without Jesus?" its the same thing and are interchangeable according to OP. True followers of Christ are well aware of who presides over judgement.

The more I think about it your friend is kind of rude for putting you on the spot Sempre. How would he have liked it if you asked if he thought theist/Christians were delusional/ignorant/superstitious. All of which carry some degree of judgement and condemnation as well as some arrogance.

As is clear here in this thread it is okay for non believers to misquote, use secular books to define biblical terms and other nonsense

The only thing we can do is speak what we know and pray for them

I try and do that as much as possible

No, no, and no. I simply quoted your own phrase "dumb cop." I did not believe that myself, BTW. I think you're a lot smarter than a lot of people here who are always learning but never coming into a knowledge of the Truth.

2 Corinthians 12:9-10
But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ's sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

Psalm 46:1
God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.

It'll be what it is Semp.

Some believe, some don't.

Mathew 10:13"If the house is worthy, give it your blessing of peace. But if it is not worthy, take back your blessing of peace. 14"Whoever does not receive you, nor heed your words, as you go out of that house or that city, shake the dust off your feet. 15"Truly I say to you, it will be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgment than for that city.
