The sound of music, Joy and laughter
Parents cook the spoils, Avoiding disaster!
Children run around, Full of excitement
It's christmas again, But when mum when!

Money exchanged, Big expectations
The pressure is on to bring jubilations
People want this and people want that
With no care for others, Not one thought for brothers

Adverts galore, Polluting your mind
It's as if you don't buy, You've committed a crime
People in debt for the price of one day
Now you don't think, You don't have a say

Brainwashing posters and radio ads
Xbox, Playstations and all the new fads
Money is tight but you still go ahead
Buying and spending, Your losing your head

Some people have nothing, Just the floor that they sleep
Some people are crying, But don't say a peep
Some people are dying, Would do anything to live
Some people are rich, And just will not give

So enjoy your Christmas, But help someone in need
Give out the love, Don't surrender to greed
Love is the most precious gift of all
Make someones christmas, And help when they fall

You have most accurately portrayed what I like to call the "Spirit of Commercialism". It masqueraded as the Spirit of Christmas to worm it's way into our greedy little minds and bypassed our hearts in the process. Thank you for the kick in the corporate commercialism pants!

How very true!
We should be able to reach out and help others any time, but especially at Christmas time!
We are trying to instill that in the munchkins as well, it's about people not things. One person in particular in fact.

If we can do even one good deed for others, then we get to make the world a better place.

Hi greyeagle. I'm so glad you dropped by to read it. Yes I'm hoping it will get easier to write them. I seem to have hit 2014 with a bit of excitement and confidence. I have some good hopes for this new year. And I certainly want to write some more stuff. I will certainly learn off people like your good self and other great writers on here.
