I know another thread on Ison. But at least I didn't mention the name
in the heading ! Right ? All the hype and doom surronding Ison and as
usual no truth to it at all. November's pretty much gone right.

So who gets the blame for people getting so hyped up and making claims
that Nasa is hiding something ? When as Daryllyn points out in her thread
perfectly, that it isn't even possible for Nasa to hide anything.

Where did all the bogus bombastic BS begin ? Hmmm.....

Updated huh ? Up yours.

The same place fear seems to always come from ? Don't forget it either.

This would be a pretty boring place if there wasn't some people who didn't believe that we are being told everything.

Doomsday events are one of the most interesting subjects here.

What would it be like if there were no people that believed in conspiracies on this site....I don't think the site would even exist anymore. Nobody would come here to learn what they teach you in textbooks.

Seeing how you asked so politely, I was attemtping to incorporate a meme but got lost somewhere along the way...

"I can has comet now?"

ETA And personal disclosure: I'm hoping for some great photography of what some people say might be one of the more spectacular comets to grace our skies in the coming days (?) If I can see it here is a mystery right now but I'll be lookin'! The Star of Bethlehem!

I really prefer the scientific over the woo, but even I have to admit, a part of me is entertained by the doom comet drama. I can haz doom comet nao, plz?

Realistically, if it holds up, I think it's closest pass by Earth is something like 40 million miles away. Our gravity might have an impact on it, but I doubt it would impact us.

Comet drama you say?

Yeah well, yo comet is so ugly, it ran into the sun, and the sun didn't even want it.

That's all I have to add really. What can I say, thing's get slow around ATS sometimes. I really don't mind the ISON threads, it livens things up a bit. Not for the "doom porn" but they're just interesting, in my opinion. Like enigmas in the sky sometimes. (unless they contain Nibiru, that's a different story..)

I don't mind 'em either. They're better when you can deduce
some knowledge tho. I'm really just making sure people put the
origins of hype and fear in the right place here. 'sall.

People are being deliberately worn down by all the 'boy who cried wolf' tactics, so that they will bear 'battle fatigue' to barely care anymore in terms of preparation efforts for the legitimate cosmic threats both real and impending. These are psychological operations in effect.

An agenda is being fed from the top, and as usual us 'bottom feeder serfs' will often serve an agenda further (though well meaning) in spreading disinformation amongst our peers, weaved by many active agents in the field.

Jim McCanney I found to be a reliable source of information regarding Ison.

Again this makes me think of the documentary I Know What I Saw, I think its called.

Can`t remember, but sure it`ll still be on youtube. I`d embed the vid if i could.

In it, a woman states she was told by someone high and mighty from NASA, that at first they will scare the people with the threat of terrorism, when that stops working it will be a threat of METEORS and the such. When that stops scaring them we will, i kid you not, use the threat of aliens.

And this docu is from the 70`s i think.

Now, by the amount of shooting stars and meteors i have seen lately, plus the increased MSM attention given to meteor strikes like Russia, Chile an everywhere, plus the hype of Ison, Wormwood, Encke, whatever, i would say we are in the beginning of the meteor threat, as the threat of terrorism isn`t quite getting us as jittery as before.

IMO

Wish i could embed the vid it`s an interesting watch.

The comet talk has has been highly entertaining, but the doom is definitely much worse than with Elenin (as I remember it) and tons of it is coming from Youtube.

Doom is way more exciting than reality, I'm afraid, and I think that some (notice I said some) WANT doom.

Out of all the thousands of astronomers out there..

Many of them that do NOT work for NASA or any other agencies...

That live in who knows how many countries and they knew for sure that ISON (or any other NEO) would cause doom...

Does anyone honestly think that at least a good number of those people would just NOT come forward?

By the time that near earth objects have a confirmed Impact Risk, they are well known by the world-wide community of astronomers and the information about them isn't even a secret to begin with.

I'm still rooting for ISON though and waiting to see what happens next

I get what you're sayin' and allot of that stuff has to be taken with a grain of salt. Especially the "ELE" threads and such in the past and inevitably, the future. But ATS is the place for it if any other as long as it's not a straight up hoax.

The Fukushima radiation is going to kill the oceans on Planet Earth over the next 20 or 30 years....
And we still might go through the debris of ISON...The drama is not over yet..IMO.
Here is a piece of space that NASA is hiding on a star map.

You are of course will get all reaches of the spectrum on space and its moving objects and you have to admit there is no shortage of real mystery and wow. all through history there have been comets and such that have done noticeable damage to all of the planets and moons we can see with our tech. And Earth is no vary, therefore we could be due now or in the near future. Science and the people of astronomy fuel this fire of doom because we really do not know very much of how this stuff really works, only theory, and no shortage of that. When you see a report on NBC or whatever, then you see a seemingly credible opposite or big time different view of the same object it can rattle your cage, and this unsettles lots of people, drives their thoughts and actions and words. We know the scars of the past may tell our future, and are not sure who to trust anymore, and our imagination runs rampant, but hey, look at it as just entertainment if not true, but if it is true, the entertainment value will be short lived.....

Dah dah and that is how BS conspiracies start. If the comet has indeed changed course or even appears to have changed course there must be some evidence. If that evidence is not coming from NASA then whoo hoo look NASA is covering up, no problem. BUT when there is no evidence whatsover and all the conspiracy is based on is pure conjecture (ie a guess no better then you would read in a cheap novel) then this is where folks with thinking brains become a little agitated.

The vast majority of "conspiracies" on ATS these days have no evidence whatsover, they are based on the guess of some expert whose only qualifications are of his ability to post a youtube video lasting more than 15 minutes that expresses his fantasy guesswork.

He may be an intelligent man, but he is also a man who embellishes everything he discusses.
