Why not spill the beans to everyone?

Sure. Want the beans spilled on Masonry?

Apply the Golden Rule in your daily life in as many situations as possible, particularly with those less fortunate than yourself.

But you probably already knew this or at least I hope you did.

C'mon, you've got to admit your first post was pretty insulting. When those kind of baseless insults fly, that leaves the playing field open to play for a post or so, yes?

can one be ANY more pathetic and suffering from issues of mental or physical endowment than to join some "secret" group and have secret handshakes.

the whole things smells of a dungeons and dragons nerd club gone too far.

there must be something more at work than that.??

My point is, if the betterment of mankind is the goal, then there are those that may be able to take those "secrets" and run with it in a positive way. This would be impossible if there are other men deciding who is "worthy" enough to be in on the secret.

My belief is there are MANY well meaning people searching for something more to make life better. But if that is only for those "in the club" then a problem is lurking.

They don't decide if you get the secrets. You decide.
You have to choose to be "worthy" of your own volition.
You have to "want" to know.

Most people don't "want" to know.

I posted tons of stuff about this specifically and it barely got any attention.
No one really wanted to debate either, I gave it over 6 months, what do I see?
Tumbleweeds. Ghost threads.

Heck I even themed the information with "this info is Silent, Invisible, etc", in order to make the point to anyone who actually read my stuff, that I could post it right up in public and it would go under the radar anyways and remain occult no matter how easy I could make it through clear and concise explanations.

You can go tell them the secrets right to their faces, right after they begged for them, and they will act like they don't know what you are talking about.

I still have a ton of info I could post, and maybe I will, but I'm not really in a rush.
No one's really in a rush to find out...so I'll take my time.

You keep missing the point. We don't have anything we want to keep secret. We don't have any secret knowledge that nobody else is allowed to know. We teach good men ways to become better men. And these men come to us and ask. Maybe that's the secret. Folks like you act as if you are disgruntled that somebody is keeping something from you. Yet you have not asked for anything. How exactly do you expect this knowledge to come to you?

Step up just a tiny bit. Spoon feeding is troublesome.

The average person on the street in the present age would be interested in a secret if 1, it would make them more popular. 2, allow them to get rich. 3, give them power over others or 4, help them get laid!

That is what is meant by swine!

I am involved in at least 3 "secret" societies involving esoteric wisdom (not including off-shoots of masonry such as OES).

To anyone who is capable of a Google search, it quickly becomes evident that stories, such as the Eleusinian mysteries, are codes for a deeper meaning tied to esoteric knowledge. Try reading the Bible with this knowledge as a cypher key.... Amazing. But one undertaking this study using often retranslated material must take into consideration that the story may be degraded and have lost key pieces of information

The good news is that this coded material is usually found in many places if one knows where or what to look for....

With all due respect, it's more than simply wanting to know, although that is definitely a prerequisite.

This type of alchemy and knowledge, while it certainly can be used for the wrong purposes, is meant for spiritual transmutation. When I was growing up, my teacher always told me that this is a process occurring over many lifetimes and that the student will never "grasp" the true meaning of particular knowledge until they have reached a specific point in their evolution that it is their time to know.

This is why I don't over concern myself with those unnamed people who just don't get it. It's not yet their time.

We all will reach the same destination but will each take our own unique path to get there. It's not a race or competition as we are all essentially ONE.

No, there is not. The degrees in masonry always revolve around this basic and universal tenet.

My belief is there are MANY well meaning people searching for something more to make life better. But if that is only for those "in the club" then a problem is lurking.

As has been pointed out this goal is not secret so to postulate that the Golden Rule is limited to those 'in the club' has no merit.

That's interesting. I definitely have that gene. My grandfather was a Freemason and I'm supposedly related to john Adams on the other side, it fits logic at least.

I am a Demolay and I always thought the Masonic secret was that they removed Jesus Christ's body from the tomb and that he didn't resurrect. Knowing that the Christ story is made up is kind of commonplace today but back then that was a true illuminating secret.

To me the secret is the mathematical balance between service to others and service to self. The Mason's imply that there is a universal geometry that can be converted to your every day actions.

What do I know, I drink.

He has to stand in line like everyone else. Being a former angel doesn't mean much anymore.

Why is a belief in a greater power a prerequisite for membership of freemasonry?
Surely this rules out many fine thinkers, who, needs must, remain agnostic by reason of
the available evidence .

The golden rule in the negative is more encompassing;
Do not do onto others what you would not have them do onto you.

I think we are all equally worthy.
Circumstance divides up the illusion.

If it isn't a spiritual submittance to the Lord Most High it is of Satan.

It is actually a Supreme Being and not a 'greater power', which is a significant difference. The reasoning is simple, Regular Masonry, of which the majority of Masons on this board are a part of, has its teachings based in monotheism. A non-monotheist or Atheist would not gain much, if anything, from participating in the degrees.

There are irregular Masonic organizations that permit Atheists or have no belief requirements and from what we have discussed here appear to have fairly similar degree contents.

See how far that gets you in life.

No one said any different.
