Thing is it is so effective.

The goverment could put a gun to my head or threaten to throw me in prison and I would stand up defient and refuse to do there bidding (if wrong).

Threaten to frame me for child porn and make me into a monster and I will sing and dance for the goverment. As there is nothing I could do. If they wanted too they could plant what ever evidence they wanted. And that would apply to everyone. Even the most clean person they could smear and blackmail.

It beyond if you havent done any thing wrong you have nothing to fear. As they could plant something wrong at any whim.

The cops are known to plant narcotics in peoples car too for whatever reason, but normally to make you talk about bad guys they want desperately. If they know you hang out with the wrong people they can do that.

Cops are known to frame ex convicts for things they never did. Cant catch a rapist or murder? No problem, mr smith just got released from prison after serving half his sentence and is out on probation, so what better opportunity to frame someone than him, since once an untrustworthy criminal always a criminal. It saves the cops some work.

Imagine what the federal government can do. They know america is a puritan nation and the best way to smear someone for life is to plant child porn on their computer. Not that child porn is taken lightly anywhere and for good reason. It robs teens of their innocence and causes life long trauma which is difficult to cure.

Its finaly happening! The NSA is about to use it powers to black mail us!

If we are finding out about this now I can pretty much guarantee that this has been going on for a while. It makes me wonder how many, police, judges, politicians...ect that are currently being blackmailed by the alphabet agencies? After all they have lied to the people to congress and even the court that was set up to over see it's operations!!

Therein lies the enormous problem that this unchecked spying has for our society....how can we know who has been silenced? Who has been manipulated? We simply cannot allow this to continue. The consequences of letting this continue are simply too horrible to contemplate. Worse...it could be any one of us if we start making too much noise.

The time for action is now....while we still have a voice.

I'm pretty sure this kind of blackmail has been already running rampant, and being used to coerce politicians and judges to comply with the edicts of the few who wield control.

too bad for them that their credibility is diminishing. If your everyday scumbag senator or MP had this come out about them and they denied it with a solid story of NSA/GCHQ impropriety, the public may just start to buy it.

Strausse-Kahn had a very effective story that actually had some impact in the public perception.

The brain trust over at the NSA might want to rethink this idea.

Bill Clinton's Oval Office shenanigans with Monica Lewinsky's humidor might have thoroughly discredited him with the Daughters of the American Revolution and all who cherish the values they brought over on the Mayflower, but America's porn loving public just turned around and re-elected the kinkster.

The porn industry didn't become a multi-billion dollar business because a few disgusting perverts were spending billions on porn. Like it or not porn is one of America's best loved guilty pleasures.

How about countering the statements of the radical scum with logically superior, sensible counter arguments that can stand up to scrutiny and make some kind of common sense?

There is a suspicious odor of "mission creep" about this idea.

Are we sure that somebody over at the NSA doesn't have an ulterior motive for wanting to track people's porn viewing habits? The kinky bastuds! Why don't they just request people's bookmarks if they want to find the best sites? What a bunch of Puritan hypocrites!

Incredible, I had this exact conversation yesterday with a friend. I said firstly, in not the too distant future anyone who has downloaded torrents will get slapped with a bill and ANY LOUD MOUTH with an opinion other than the party line had better be ready to expect their browsing history to somehow get leaked and their credibility chewed up and spat out.

I'm a loud mouth and I'm making a lot of noise with my own disgraceful local authority busy trying to expose them for the incompetent fools they are. Expect to see my in depth searches for the perfect chocolate cake to be spread far and wide.

I have said this will happen, I was laughed at and thought paranoid. Even more paranoid because I put tape over the camera on my PC. Yes that was quite hilarious, until a friend of mine got an email with a picture of him watching a (naughty) site and asking him to pay a fine. Sure it was a scam and yet it proved my point brilliantly.
Anything the scammers and hackers can do, tptb can do a whole lot better and faster.

Pass the duct tape.

S&F for you.

But what if the security services pulled you in and said right do (Insert imoral action) or we will plant tons of child porn on your computer and false records on it going back years and hand you over to teh police? Your repuation will be ruined and you will end up death mark on you in prison.
And to top iy off they will do the same with you family and freinds and make a whole (fake) pedo ring out of you and evryone you love.

Strange how my perception of the internet is changing. At first it felt like freedom, that nothing could be suppressed and the truth would out in the end.

Nowadays I see the Internet as a direct line in to the privacy of each individual, sharing more of private and family life with the Goverments than we would ever willingly do.

No wonder they need a lot of cyber storage. At the click of a button, they will be able to find out all they ever need to know about us.

Don't be googling any suspected symptoms just before applying for insurance .... And don't think for one minute that as time goes by the past stays in the past, internet 'history' will be dragged into the here and now whenever they feel it is necessary.

I may be paranoid and untrusting..... My, I can't think how I ever became this way with such a transparent and fair government (sarcasm off).

Don't see the big deal. Since when did the feds need "evidence" to discredit its enemies, when "lies" work just as well?

Admit nothing.
Deny everything.
Make counter-accusations.

If they want, they can download despicable child porn onto your computer, cell phone, laptop, tablet, etc. and you won't even know it. Stuck off in a folder labeled financial documents. And those tiny pieces of blotter paper slipped under the mat on the passengers side of your Honda.

That my thought. If the dirts not there they can add it.

It's a lot easier for them to find it if they know where they put it.

If you think this is a new thing, you're wrong.

This is new inasmuch as it's now becoming very public, but every blackmail, especially sexual blackmail technique in the book, including this one mentioned in this thread, has been in use in the extensive arsenal of tptb for a long time.

I'd hazard a guess that it's very normal a tactic for them to use.

Damn..this sucks! Well, I guess if someone is really addicted to porn, they are really dangerous...oooohhhhh! A floating fat head! If I was a polititions wife or husband, I'd rather have them watching porn. Otherwise, they'd be cheating>>Think!...if Clinton had the internet porn of today back in the day, he'd never have needed Monica!!

Biggest problem here is that you can easily put up a fake site with images indexed to Google but it then redirects to CP or something and then you can log that IP into your database and use it against whomever has viewed it. Similar things already exist and I'm pretty sure the feds have something like that setup already. The problem here is that you can practically target the whole world this way and not only have the ability to prosecute but to also pass bills based on new numbers that show the increase in "pedos". Bend the laws and people at your will if the government is corrupt enough.
