A Utah mother is claiming that a flu shot is responsible for the recent death of her 19-year-old son.

Chandler Webb received the shot on October 15 during a routine physical, after he had decided to go on a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The day after the exam, Chandler became extremely ill – suffering from vomiting and headaches. A little more than a week later, Chandler slipped into a coma and spent nearly a month on life support at Intermountain Medical Center in Murray, Utah.

While at the hospital, Chandler underwent a variety tests, but his doctors couldn’t confirm what had caused his illness.

Chandler was eventually taken off life support and died early Tuesday morning. His mother, Lori Webb, said that his direct cause of death was swelling of the brain – something she believes was the result of an adverse reaction to the influenza vaccination.

"What attacked his brain happened so quickly within 15 hours," Webb said on Fox and Friends. "From one CT scan to the next, there was so much pressure and swelling on the brain that it crushed his brain stem."

According to a report from the Salt Lake Tribune, Webb has declined an autopsy, as she believes that a pending brain biopsy will reveal Chandler’s cause of death. A spokesperson for Intermountain told the Tribune that Chandler’s doctors are legally prohibited from speaking about his case.

Tom Hudachko, a spokesman for the Utah Department of Health, said that the agency is aware of Chandler’s death, but they cannot verify whether or not it was caused by the flu shot. Hudachko said the department has no record of any Utah residents ever dying from the flu shot and that reactions to the vaccine are incredibly rare.

"Like with other medical procedures, there can be side effects and adverse reactions," he said. "In the vast majority of those cases the side effects are not very severe — soreness at the injection site, low fever, achiness. Occasionally, yes, there are more severe side effects from receiving the vaccine."

Webb said before getting the shot, her son was very healthy and had a very positive outlook on life. She maintained she isn’t trying to discourage others from getting the flu shot, but she hopes people will educate themselves about the possible side effects of the vaccine.

"[Chandler] didn't deserve this," Webb said on Fox and Friends. "His last words before he crashed into his coma was, 'Doctors, save me.'"

Yet another page in this conspiracy gets turned... and doctors flat out deny that the injection her son received only days before caused this fine young mans death...

He was perfectly health one minute... and the day after his flu shot he started getting sick... Just over a month after his "exam" his life ended tragically...

Courts quietly confirm MMR Vaccine causes Autism

Now before anyone jumps down my throat and starts calling me an "anti Vaxer" like the previous thread... I want everyone to know im not against Vaccines... I believe its your choice to get vaccinated or not...

And im quite sure vaccinations have helped our society a whole lot... but I am forced to question exactly what they're putting in these vaccines... There is NO reason why a perfectly healthy boy should die because of an injection... NOT even ONE out of millions

One thing is for sure... I personally will never get a flu shot...

I've heard far too many storys even to consider getting one... and I work in the Health care industry...

Vaccines need to be tested far more then they are before they're released to the public... and at this point I don't believe they can be trusted...

Just one cats opinion though

It is very possible that the flu shot could have caused a cykotine storm that slowly killed this kid. I know how the shot effected me. I got very severe symptoms and did not even have the disease. Triggering an immune response by injecting the signal into the body can have extremely bad results with a person with a very good immune system. To the medical industry I suppose people with a good immune system are a threat, they would like everyone as customers.

As far as the reaction being rare, I personally know at least twenty people that had the same reaction as I did. So how rare is that, twenty of the maybe hundred people I have talked to about it. I personally know at least a thousand people but have not talked to many about this. The other about eighty I talked to about it could take the flu shot with no reactions. So that is about twenty percent in my books. I will believe in the people I talk to personally before I listen to someone who is selling something.

You folks are funny.

Mother can claim anything, she can claim man lives on the cloud, it doesn't man its true.

Whats is with using "jesus" "good little boy attitude" in the article? sympathy points?

I would be utterly terrified to give my child the flu shot...

I don't have any children but I do hope to have at least one... but I've heard a lot of people get very sick from it, even a few of my friends have

I wouldn't take that risk personally

Just as the argument went in the other thread I posted...

When one gets into a car accident and breaks his arm... its likely the car accident caused the break.

When someone gets an injection of any kind... and gets sick immediately afterward, its pretty safe to "assume" the injection caused the sickness

I've personally witnessed the flu shot getting people sick... so do don't bother telling me it doesn't happen

No one i knew in my life got sick from vaccine.

Comparing Car accident to getting Sick from Vaccine does not even relate. Because Car accidents is known to produce injuries.

Because Vaccine is not proven to cause those sickness.

This is how it is....

You need to take into account of what the person ate, how many hours they slept, their genetic conditions, interaction with other people, their sickness, they disease, interaction with a external chemical, smelling in fumes, air quality, holy water, oh yeah also the vaccine shot.

All have equal parts.

If Vaccine caused the sickness, they could trace it. Then again, you can poke your self on a infected object and inject yourself full of toxins. How are you going to tell a difference?

We get flu vaccines every year and not once we have been having severe symptoms just those what are expected like mild fever and those also lasted only a day. I just don´t buy this is a cause until its proved to be so. I think autopsy should have been made to rule out other possible reasons and maybe even the real answer.

Oh yeah Fun Fact.

Did you know 99% of the people that say they got the "Flu" is actually talking about the common cold virus?

Yeah....You don't want to get the Flu AKA Influenza, AKA Swine, Bird, SARS... remember getting these sickness after you vaccine shots? I don't think so.

Assigning blame without a confirmation isn't very safe, though. That's what you're doing with that assumption.

Nobody is saying that doesn't happen.

No brother... im not against Vaccinations... I stated that clearly in the OP

I personally will never get one, but it is up to the individual to make that choice

As I've said, I've personally witnessed people getting very sick directly after getting the flu shot... Yes its rare, but it does happen...

Its just tragic that such a bright young lad died... and if theres even a remote possibility that the vaccine caused it... then people should know about it...

Unfortunately the mother declined an autopsy... so we might not ever find out

While his mother is claiming that the influenza vaccine is responsible for the death of her son, doctors claim they could not confirm the cause and they are now legally prohibited from speaking about his case.

No, it's not. It doesn't happen. Sure people might get sick after getting a flu shot but it wasn't from the flu shot. Your logic is like saying you went to get your oil changed in your auto and when you got home your headlight was out. Well, obviously oil changes damage headlights huh.

Anyone who would keep preventive medicine from a child deserves to go to jail.

Im not going to argue about this... Flu Vaccines can cause adverse reactions... sometimes it can be severe

And I've personally witnessed it happening... and I couldn't care less if you believe me or not

So sad. I have a friend who's mother received a flu vaccine that gave her the flu, that then killed her.

I know of parents that have always followed the advise of doctors regarding their children, but are now questioning the wisdom of all these shots after experiencing odd illnesses and strange conditions in their babies right after receiving vaccinations.

The "no vaccine" corner of the ring is gaining strength, and the knock out punch that big pharma will throw will be delivered by our wonderful political leaders in the form of mandatory vaccinations.

To the people that believe a flu shot can cause these kinds of adverse reactions I have but one question. How?

the vaccine is supposed to be a dose of the virus that's "dead"... So your immune system can prepare to deal with the alive version of it if you body happens to come in contact with it...

The immune system is compromised while trying to fight off the dead virus... which can make people feel very ill...

and lets not forget to mention the other "additives" which are used in the vaccination... which can cause allergic reactions as well...
