Well for someone so vocal on the need to stay working in thankless jobs, because taking a risk is a dumb thing to do, yes I believe I have at least your type down. A lesser man may even have called you a corporate shill. Luckily I am not that man....

But then you said:

I know at least 5 people who are great people and highly trained that can't find jobs.

Wow. That went at least 360 degrees and kind of bit back didn't it??

Maybe if those people worked at walmart, even with their high-end degrees, they wouldn't be out of work. But that's just my guess. Someone like me clearly wouldn't know what it's like to have degrees, associates, 20 odd years managing entire stores and beyond, but then washed dishes later on. No, I wouldn't know at all...

First of all, I work for myself doing what I love. I'm a musician, so....nice guess. Second, Walmart can't even pay their employees enough to live on so they have them beg the other employees. I really think you love believing you know everything so maybe that is what your calling is. I heard their are a lot of nice 1-976 numbers out there to work for. It is disturbing to know that if you have a dissenting view, you are a shill...lol...maybe I have just seen more of the world. I have traveled all over and seen the rich and the poor and let me tell ya, the ones that are happy are not the ones telling everyone else how things are. Good luck in life, my friend. Peace.

Helping the world? How is it helping to disregard the welfare of your family so that you can be happy? Being happy doesn't put a roof over your kids heads. I am not saying that a single person can't do this. More power to them but a married with children person doesn't have the luxury of being selfish.

btw...an associates is like having a high school degree these days. I wouldn't brag. just because you were suckered into the 20 years managing gig doesn't mean you know what you are talking about...just means you are bitter. I worked hard for everything in my life. I come from a family that was below the poverty line but I was not dumb enough to think that it was all there was in life. So, if you have a higher degree...you bought in to the lies? lol, no...it means you knew what you wanted to do and pursued it. Not everyone wants to play it safe. The fact that you think that someone wanting a higher degree is bad just shows, once again, how bitter you are.

Same. Self employed, self made. Not a musician, but hey my bills are pretty well paid regardless.

Second, Walmart can't even pay their employees enough to live on so they have them beg the other employees.

Thanks for entirely missing my point here. You say there are highly skilled people you know that have no jobs. I say it's largely because these high end types wouldn't work for places like that because they see it as beneath them. But thanks for not bothering to even read that line.

I really think you love believing you know everything so maybe that is what your calling is. I heard their are a lot of nice 1-976 numbers out there to work for.

Yeah. I clearly know everything there is to know. Not really sure where you pulled that from, but hey, if you're happy with personal attacks, then go ahead. Broad shoulders and all...

It is disturbing to know that if you have a dissenting view, you are a shill...lol...maybe I have just seen more of the world.

Go back and read what I wrote again. Go ahead, it's in English...

A lesser man may even have called you a corporate shill. Luckily I am not that man....

Please tell me where I literally called you a corporate shill.

I have traveled all over and seen the rich and the poor and let me tell ya, the ones that are happy are not the ones telling everyone else how things are.

Same. And I know for a fact some of the poorest people in the world are the happiest. Why? Because they have had at least one humbling experience in their life that grounds them. As for telling everyone else how things are, I expressed a differing opinion to yours based on my own personal experience of having children, debts and the like and taking a chance with something that really hangs it all out there. Perhaps it's me being a shill offering that differing opinion?

Good luck in life, my friend. Peace.

Thankyou. I generally do, based on taking risks in life, not being like this;

Oh and just for the record, until recently I was a single father with two kids under my roof. Which must make me exceptionally selfish and/or stupid in your eyes I guess.

I could endlessly go on and on about the titles and tickets I've attained over the years, but considering I took a massive gamble with family and my life, it's really irrelevant now, and probably not relevant to this thread anyway.

just because you were suckered into the 20 years managing gig doesn't mean you know what you are talking about...just means you are bitter.

Bitter? Wow, such a strong word. My friend, the only thing I'd ever be bitter about is not telling that boss and the corporation I slaved for so long to shove their job sooner and walk away.

I worked hard for everything in my life. I come from a family that was below the poverty line but I was not dumb enough to think that it was all there was in life.

There you and I can 100% agree. The difference is I woke up one day and realised my kids and my life were flashing me by. I chose to do something about it, irrespective of my own selfishness. If that made me irresponsible or stupid, then so be it. Being the head of my own company now, and watching that grow every day into something I can pass onto my kids that they may have everything I never did. Well isn't that the whole point? That we can give our kids everything we didn't have?

So, if you have a higher degree...you bought in to the lies? lol, no...it means you knew what you wanted to do and pursued it. Not everyone wants to play it safe. The fact that you think that someone wanting a higher degree is bad just shows, once again, how bitter you are.

I played it safe for twenty years. And I hated it. Hated watching others suffer so those above me could take a bigger slice of the pie. I think people should strive for everything they can be in life, which is something the world should be helping people with, not slaving for these corporations that don't even pay well enough to eat while reaping billion dollar profits. Bitter? No, not bitter at all. I'm extremely happy with my life. All it took was to take an irresponsible risk with my family's livelihood to do it....

WOW. Are you so far off base. You make the assumption that dumping the Corporate world is doomed to failure! Wake up. Examples abound in this thread alone where people have made the difficult and brave decision and been very successful.

But you can't see that, can you.

If you want to continue to be a little pawn while the Elite make more than they can ever spend off the backs of the workers then fine, do so. Your choice. But don't tell the rest of us that we cannot strive for both happiness and financial freedom, because we have and we have successfully!

It seems to be your way or no way. There are other options! Have you tried?

I am self made and happy that way.

Most people do work hard for everything in their life, its just that some are rewarded better than others.
Some people are rewarded for doing nothing. Yes life is unfair.
