I'm a union rep for a major Fortune 500 company.. The first thing out of black members mouths is it's racism.. It isn't because you were falling down drunk that you got time off.. It's racism.. Forget that you've missed 10 unexcused days in the last two weeks.. It's racism..

How can Oprah who has had the world on a plater even make such a claim? Especially about a black president.. He's president for crying out loud..

Oprah is a sellout of the highest order. Whatever it takes to market her "brand", whatever it takes to make a buck. Just like every celebrity in her position, they're willing to sacrifice all for the dollar. Her show, when it started out, was just like Jerry Springer's.

How is what she says important... to anyone? She's in the same league as Maury Povich and Ellen DeGeneres. How on earth does what she has to say about political matters carry any authority? Is she constitutionally aware?

If you recognize a shill, then you must realize that everything they do has an agenda behind it. One of the key agendas in the US by power brokers has been fairly apparent over the last 18 months, and that has been the worsening of race relations by focusing on the ridiculous. How could anyone in their right mind not realize this is so very blatantly furthering this agenda. Just like when she made those false remarks about buying some bag in Switzerland.

To all the posters who think what she says has merit, I encourage you to think more critically. Americans don't dislike Obama because he's black. Hell, that was part of the novelty in voting for him in the first place (besides the then refreshing non-politician image he had), and he won. They dislike him because he hasn't kept almost every single one of his campaign promises. You can't be a politician in a representative republic and contradict the entire platform that got you elected and expect to be popular.

I don't dislike Obama because of his skin color. I dislike him because he's proof that we have an illusion of choice. Almost every one of his major campaign promises he has gone back on and done exactly what his opponents wanted in the first place. A conservative health care system? We got it. NDAA? We got it. Massive expansion of the NSA in the name of defense? We got it. Extension of Bush tax cuts? We got it (for awhile). End of lobbyists? We didn't get it. Patroit Act? We got it. Improved financial aid for college? We didn't get it. Massive corporate bailouts? We got it. Domestic security force? We got it (to be fair, he campaigned on this). More wars? We got it.

He has basically been the third and fourth terms of Bush. While he campaigned against all of those things. He is a complete hypocrite as is anyone who voted for him in 2008 and still supports him. To say nothing of those that supported Bush and don't support Obama.

It isnt racist to dislike an ineffectual President.

I understand that the expectations for him were high and perhaps unattainable. (I think Obama has taken care of the Nobel people giving any preemptive awards in the future.)

But any person, Democrat or African American that says he has had a successful Presidency is just not being honest.

He has done an abysmal job, regardless of skin colour. I feel bad for black activists that were hoping to gain much needed ground for their cause from a successful Obama Presidency. He has done the opposite.

I also think where the race card MAY come into play is the next time a black candidate has a chance to make to the ticket of their respective party, the failure of Obama will haunt them.

Somebody else pointed out that it wasn't relevant to the discussion that she was African american.
A liberal view would say that this was a valid point made, but surely one of the criterias for a discussion is to have ALL the facts presented...warts and all.
To me she was just an ungrateful mare, she could of just turned the car down or sold it for a profit.

My other bugbear is this eggshell approach to labeling people... to me African american is a PC government label... how many of you can honestly say once you hear African american you think "oh..black".
When this bull first kicked off in the 80s it created more problems than necessary, every time a discussion took place and I said to a black person "This colored guy" they would turn round and say..."what colour?" that spoke volumes in itself, now its simply black or white... it sits comfortably...its honest and not racist or patronising.
And as for that ghastly term "People of colour" what a racist statement that is.. If I was racist that would say to me..."no one of us."

I'm so sick of people who play the race card. I have black friends and black and mixed relatives, Although I am white and a natural blonde.

Anybody with half a brain can see POTAS for who he really is and what his motives are. people who play the race card are so stupid. They are right up there with the idiots who think that Homosexuality is NOT a genetic thing.

I'm so glad people don't play the "blue eyed" people card and its refreshing to know that blue eyes are not a crime and that I 'm not doomed to hell for blue eyes.
