Since you failed to comprehend my last post I will dumb it down for you.

Those who violate religious restrictions are often accused of crimes such as spying or anti-government activities

Also from you posted before it was abundantly clear bibles are on the list of things that can get you imprisoned or killed. They may as well have filled those balloons with anthrax.

I didn't fail to comprehend with your post, I disagree with your views, because you let your disdain for religion cloud your critical thinking skills so much that you don't even bother to verify the propaganda your buying into.

Your willing to turn probably every view and freedom you hold closest to your heart on its head to justify your thoughts on the religious.

You say it might as well be anthrax but it is not it is a book that however much you disagree with people are willing to die for the belief therefore in it when the freedom is not present.

Many people would die for a lot less than the belief that their is soul is eternal, and the physical world is not the end.

Many people would die before they let there second amendment rights be stripped from them.

Many people have and would die before they allowed the goverment to dictate their beliefs of any nature or origin.

Why are you turning this into christians vs atheists debate? From what I read mostly in this thread most people didn't bash Christianity.

Question: Would you be willing to have people get killed?

There is a reason for aid organizations being so secretive. It's so that they wont have people get killed!

It has NOTHING to do with religion.

The OP of this thread blasts Christians for this and makes it quite clear they are anti religious. Can you please explain how I started anything by disagreeing with that and actually reading the articles and thinking for myself?

You should pay attention to what DeadAlien said.

I really wish you would stop talking about what people would fight or die for I take those words to heart having fought for my country and lost friends in those lands. I have no idea if you ever served but certainly do not seem like you have because you throw those phrases around so lightly.

The entire point is that group is putting other people’s lives in danger and the fact that they publicized it makes it even worse because doing so will tell NK forces exactly where to look. I have no doubt they will search through every villa/town in search of those bibles and whoever is caught will face harsh consequences up to death.

You talk about clouding critical thinking yet you seem to ignore the grave consequences innocents can face for the actions of a few idiots. If only one person is imprisoned tortured or killed for that it is one to many and absolutely unforgivable. They may not have pulled the trigger but they supplied the bullet.

This all makes me wonder if you could even point out NK on a map.

You're talking about this one?

I think the average person could think of at least a handful of far more useful books to air-drop on North Koreans--ones that don't leave the impression that we're out to control their minds just like totalitarian regime they live under does. Or yes, how about some food.

How is that bashing Christianity?

To THEM it appears that they are trying to infiltrate with poisonous ideas (remember this is North Korea. Think 1984)

As a few others have pointed out... people will still get sent to camps or killed DESPITE not even getting those Bibles. It's just "to be sure".

And yes why not send some food alongside with the bible?

Again, organizations who are really responsible don't do that. They secretly do that. They know that if they openly send ANYTHING INCLUDING FOOD will RISK the lives of those people in North Korea.

Basically we are saying that THAT GROUP IS IRRESPONSIBLE.

I appreciate your service and I hope you had a great Veterans day. No I haven't served in the military. I don't think I used any phrases lightly. I have history to back me up on what people are willing to give their lives for. If you disagree with that people arent willing to give up their lives for beliefs in freedom of persecution, basic human rights, and the belief that there is something after death. Theres just not anything else to say.

Instead of continuing to debate the topic of the thread. Where I presented evidence from the articles which no one bothered to read to support my positions. You have now turned the debate into something about me and making personal attacks.

You become more superior everytime you call a Christian a moron, idiot or whatever else put down you have in your arsenal.

Despite the fact that actually reading the articles doesn't support anyone's spin that these missionaries are being wreckless or that the executions were a direct result of their actions. You still make the argument that what if one person dies as the result of their actions its unforgivable.

What if one person is saved because of their actions? What if that one person would have been executed anyway?

No I don't agree with what you are saying. Of course I can't even find N. Korea on a map so I must so there's no point in discussing it any further.

Deadallen. If you think don't think that is slamming Christian s and agreeing lil Kims views I don't know what to say. Your talking about the things that get people killed over there I was the first person to point that out. That's almost what I was debatingbfrom the start.

The op has since edited the post, half of the first page is people directly bashing Christians the other quarter are indifferent and or complaining about food or something.

After 4 or 5 pages I was the only one who actually read the articles. I don't think there is anything that more that can be said, your making points that I already made.

You guys don't need me anymore in this thread to pat each other on the backs with stars and flags and put downs and misrepresentations of written articles.

supplies and basic medical kits or something i would applaud, instead
they wasted time killing people with their help.... Hooray religion!

So you send something over that can get them and their entire family thrown into prison camps or killed? WTF you people love your martyrdom don't you so much you will force it on others who would prefer food than fabrications.

Their life might not be great but at least they are alive the idiots sending the bibles would deprive them of that.

How do you know what they would prefer?

How do you know religion is a fabrication?

How do you know us "people" love our martyrdom and want to force it on others?

The answer to all three is: you don't. You are projecting your own hatred of Christianity on other people.

Once the word went out from the NK government about these balloons people KNEW they were forbidden-AND TOOK THEM ANYWAY. That tells you a little something about how "hungry" they are for something different.

How do you know what they would prefer?

Because I have been hungry.

How do you know religion is a fabrication?

Because their isn’t evidence of a deity.

How do you know us "people" love our martyrdom and want to force it on others?

Because even sasquatch is saying its worth dieing for and the group is putting others lives in danger.

The answer to all three is: you don't. You are projecting your own hatred of Christianity on other people.

I just answered your questions maybe you are just to narrow minded to have seen they were easily answerable.

Once the word went out from the NK government about these balloons people KNEW they were forbidden-AND TOOK THEM

Really where did you find that in the article? The only one claiming there is a demand for the bibles is the group sending them even though anyone caught with one is sent to prison along with THREE GENERATIONS OF THEIR FAMILY.

ANYWAY. That tells you a little something about how "hungry" they are for something different.

In fact any confirmation that they did pick up the bibles is confirmation that entire families are now in prison for it. That tells me YOU HAVENT THOUGHT THROUGH WHAT YOU JUST CLAIMED.

i do believe, this isn't the only time someone sent stuff by balloon.

probably not the first for bibles, either.

the NK'ns know the consequences. they will take the appropriate action to conceal anything sent over.

This ^^ is the reckless and selfish attitude that is getting people killed!

What kind of lame a$$ god needs an old book, that even it's own advocates can't agree on it's doctrine, and that can be made to say almost anything anyone wants it to say, to "save" souls?

Then, after the Bibles, come the preachers and the sheisters, to tell the "sheep" what Jesus really meant by "The meek will inherit the earth" and "Yea, forgive them 77 times" and "Turn the other cheek" for a not so small fee!

How many bibles have the buffoons dropped now? And each bible cost how much per? Now. Take that dollar amount, and calculate how many goddamn packs of seeds these idiots could have dropped instead of bundled ink & paper to help mitigate some of the hunger in that country. I'm sure seeds to grow food, and the ability to harvest the seeds from said future food, would have been much more meaningful and well received than a stinking book that will get them executed & generations imprisoned. You would think a church would be able to do better than an insult with that kind of money invested.

Self-centered pricks. "Here starving people of the North! God is better than sustenance!" ::big fat thumbs down::

Whoa...who are you defending here...this passive-aggressive christian using bibles to spark action, or yourself??? He knows FULL WELL the consequences of his actions, and I'd be damned to say that there wasn't an ulterior motive at work.

"Christian" is sooooo easy to call yourself...especially when attempting to mask ill-intent...
One may be led to think..."but, at least his heart was in the right place...even though 80 people died and a nation was terrorized for it... as long as it was a "Christian" organization behind the "misunderstanding".
"ooops...our bad???"

I call BS on this "Christian" agent provocateur.

So...anyone not agreeing with this guy, or you, are automatically atheists?
Ooohhh...how band-wagony.

Best thing that we could do for these people is to liberate them... It's a delicate situation.
Guys with balloon bibles are only antagonizing the situation...

I'm sure that people are doing what they can for North Korea, but it has to be in the "down-low" as to not inadvertently get more people executed.

Pray tell...what are you doing for North Korea?

These Christians are the only ones doing anything at all. Where are the atheists launching balloons with books you would approve of?
Until any of you actually do something you are just a jerk criticizing people who are actually doing something.

Maybe they are trying to avoid getting a family thown into a camp when a kid comes home with a forbidden book.

That's ridiculous your only saying this because it's a Bible and you disagree with religion the same as the other posters. Everything anyone could send over there is forbidden. People are sentenced to labor camps for things there parents did before they were born.
I saw a post that you made about CNN that was brilliant. I know that you are intelligent. You can live in a world that thinks its ok to ban Bibles and have every aspect of your life ran by Government or you can live in a world where you have freedom over the way you think.

Dear Squatch...
It's not so black and white...okay?
What you need to understand is that "christian" is just a word.
The belief in a higher power or the desire to be a "good" person has been around Waaaay longer than "christians".
The thing about words, is the fact that their meaning can be manipulated over time...to the point where the word no longer fits the actual definition...
the word "christian" is being manipulated to mean "the only way to be considered "good""...so if one does not agree with a "christian", it makes one "anti-...er, good"...this is human nature, it can easily be manipulated to sway support and prod action.

Christians aren't always "good".

There was a time when the word "Nazi" didn't evoke any emotion or negative connotation at all...they were admired, wanted TO BE nazis...they thought it was the Good side to be on...
Well...we all know what happened to Nazis...right?

Now...don't reply by saying that "I said" Christians and Nazis are the same thing...what I am trying to show you is that labels are just a tool of mass manipulation.

I am not an athiest.
I am not a christian.
I am not a muslim.
I am not a Jew.
I am not a Catholic...Baptist, or Protestant.
I am a human being trying to be the best human being I can be...because that is a guaranteed way to propagate the species.
I believe in Good...good is creation...

EXCEPT NONE OF THAT IS TRUE BASEED ON WHAT THE ARTICLES ACTUALLY SAY. IF YOU BOTHERED TO READ THEM FIRST.

HERE I AM AGAIN DEFENDING THESE PEOPLE BECAUSE YOU BELIEVE WHAT SOMEONE ELSE IS SAYING WITHOUT CHECKING THE FACTS. DO YOU NOT SEE THE PROBLEM????????

ALL THE EVIDENCE POINTS TO THE DEATHS BEING PART OF AN ONGOING "SEX SCANDAL".
ALL OF THE EVIDENCE POINTS TO SECRETIVE GROUPS.
THE EXECUTIONS OCCURRED IN URBAN AREAS.
BIBLES DROPPED WITH GPS IN RURAL AREAS.

I'm not concerned with your faith or lack of or gender race or nationality. If you and others are going to spread propaganda whether out of willfull ignorance, believing what others say, or intentionally. This is my concern.

I wonder how many people read the story before they start bashing these terrible Christians out to pollute the free minds of the N. Koreans! How about living in a society where you are starving, have no hope, and have no idea anyone cares about you or your people?

Article

"By sending these balloons, we let our North Korean brothers and sisters know that we are praying for them and the scriptures on the balloons are meant to encourage them," one undercover believer said.

How it All Began The earnest prayers begin at an undisclosed location in Seoul. Every week since 1991, 78-year-old Oh Mo Duk, along with a handful of other believers, has been preparing each balloon for the flight into North Korea. "I was born in North Korea. This is my way of helping to get the gospel back to my countrymen," she told CBN News.

What a lousy Christian bastard to want to give his people hope... I mean really, what a friggin jerk! (Sarcasm)

"Ok, this is not the most sophisticated or high-tech method," he acknowledged. "But when you are dealing with a country that is restricted, very secretive, and punishes its citizens, we have to try something to get hope to them."

Execution of Christians CBN News obtained audio recordings and photographs of secret underground church meetings inside North Korea.

"Father! Father! The descendants of the martyrs in blood are all alive even now," one Christian prayed. "My Father! I know the Spirit of the Lord will come to restore and deliver."

"When a North Korean accepts Jesus Christ, he or she will face persecution, imprisonment, and possibly death because of their faith," Peter said. Peter gave CBN News footage that apparently aired on a Japanese television channel allegedly showing the execution of North Korean Christians.

The footage shows a North Korean guard yelling, "I hereby declare that the accused is sentenced to death. The death penalty must be executed at once. Ready! Fire! Fire!'"

May God have mercy on us as we sit in our comfortable homes, say whatever we want to say, and think nothing of the suffering of our brothers and sisters in N. Korea. May God bless this one mans efforts to help HIS people.

'They Need Our Prayers'

Trying to get precise figures on the number of Christians today in North Korea is extremely difficult. "Based on data gathered from North Korean defectors and international human rights groups we estimate there are approximately 30,000 Christians being held in political prison camps and about 10,000 underground believers who are in hiding throughout the country," Dr. Lim Chang Ho, with Kosin University, said.
