Really? Where? Why should an atheist give to charity or even care about preserving life if it's not in his best interest?
Christians dominate charitable giving, and their charities are more effective. None of the other religions, including atheism, which is the absurd
religion that nothing created everything, come close. Sorry to burst your utopian dreaming.
I think utopian dreamers are some of the most dangerous. They always need to kill people in order to achieve their ideals. Look at Pol Pot or Stalin
or Jim Jones for that matter.
The differences in charity between secular and religious people are dramatic. Religious people are 25 percentage points more likely than
secularists to donate money (91 percent to 66 percent) and 23 points more likely to volunteer time (67 percent to 44 percent). - See more at:

Even worse is how ineffective non-christian charities are. I think government only trickles down about 30% of their funds allocated to the needy, the
rest is absorbed in 'overhead', ie paying off political supporters. For a christian charity, christian accountability calls into question any
charity that dips below 70% or so and most good ones are above 80%.
