It's going to be great for the kids but horrid for the original fans.
(Unless I get a part in one of them) (Sent over a hundred photos to his production company begging for any part, even my backside in a shot for .5 secs will do )

JJ is good, but I just don't know if he can pull this one off. It will be interesting to see him try though.

They made the right decision in my opinion. Really, an effin Toy Story writer???

Lucasfilm has announced that "Star Wars: Episode VII" director J.J. Abrams and "Raiders of the Lost Ark" writer Lawrence Kasdan have taken over screenwriting duties from Michael Arndt, an Oscar winner for "Little Miss Sunshine" and nominee for "Toy Story 3," who had previously been working on the story.
The movie is slated for release in 2015 but no firm date has been set. In its announcement about the screenwriter shuffle today, Lucasfilm said the current plan is still to begin shooting in Spring 2014.

Lucas murdered his creation with the first three (second three released). Hopefully this breathes some life back into the franchise.

I'm a little dubious regarding the graphic in consideration of how famously secretive the franchise is about keeping things secret as long as possible.

Only recently, just this last week or so, someone's finally dug up an old unseen material with behind the scenes and outtakes video laser disc from one of the original films and posting 30 second clips online (for some reason it's okay to post 30 second clips, but not the whole thing?)

Anyway, regarding the graphic, could someone enlighten me to the identities of the actors shown?
It might help if the graphic is edited with circles and arrows saying all whos who.
I've very little actor enamor, so, most often, I can't match faces to names in Hollywood.
Still, if someone were to point out whos who, a peep could go IMDb some preconceptions based on previous works.



Personally I'd really love to see the actress that plays Hit Girl, Chloe something own a Star Wars role.

As an aside, or addendum, if it's not off-topic it'd be interesting were other members here to chime in with who they'd like to see act a role and in what capacity.

Rise of the new order!

Nobody saw the title as suggesting..........you know.......I am sure some script writers spends time on ATS or other site of the such and just bites ideas all day long from unsuspecting posters. Funny how so many are worried about the NWO and now Star Wars Disney comes up with that title.

Let starwars rest, it was a good film for KIDs and doesn't need a remake or a rebirth.

The existing actors are too old for repeat roles anyway.

I actually dont think it will be all that bad.

IF you think about it, Star Wars contains a massive expanded universe outside of the movies, that at times is better than the movies.

Star wars is much more than three movies made in the 70's and then a bunch of average movies made years later.

So I have hope that these could be very good movies, if they can pull it off.

So, would being part of a team that built and launched a satellite help or hurt a person's chance of being cast? Or is being a method actor no longer the "in" thing?

Yeah really they need to give it a rest already.

Hollylame needs to start coming up with original movies, not just rehashed crap.

Had enough of Star Wars.Star Trek.

Of course that is a tall order to be asking.

They like to milk things for everything they are worth.

The remake of startrek is terrible and so will the starwars.

I hated what Abrams did to Trek so I'm probably just gonna avoid SW VII altogether and save myself the disappointment.

He'll make Chewie bald.
Leia will sleep with Luke instead...(ew).
Then they'll go back in time, change the past and none of the other six movies will have happened.
(Which would be good news for EP I-III)
