The company is hanging by a thread.

I was thinking about that myself. If the "message" is intentional it might be meant for their employees.

My local Walmarts usually have about as many customers in one line at any given time as the kmart has in a day.

if this is what you call "alarming", I would hate to see your reaction when there actually is something alarming in the paper

It's interesting how we have more Doomsday hysteria in 2013 than 2012.

Romans played with the calendar too much...

We have a kmart around here. Its not the cleanest or best looking store...but they have some good buys from time to time.

I think my wife bought a 100 "onesies" for $5 there a while back and damn near a pallet of diapers for real cheap. They come in handy when the wife has to go to a baby shower each weekend.

The message obviously hit the intended audience, but is supposed to be fun and giggles for the sheep. And the layers of meaning in that are sickening.

No asshat PTB, you don't get anything! I look forward to you facing the music! But the people are free, and will live in a good wonderful upgraded equal world.

I had that dream and we need to get on trying to get some protection. It took place at a mall and a resort kind of, with families, elderly couples, kids, and suddenly a strong group of henchmen with machetes and cutting weapons starting killing everyone. Now, the thing about the dream is there was really nothing anyone could do, they unprepared and unarmed. Chairs were used to try and block, but these guys were well prepared and well organized, and it was like a squad. When it was our turn I went lucid in the dream and said, no I refuse to participate any further in this dream, whats the point, we can't do anything. Then the woman who was giving the dream said, something to the effect that this was like what real life is, everyone thinks they can handle it, (well maybe a bunch of ex marines might but average people can't, my addition). And this is what being unarmed means.

So that sign just makes me plan our family projects getting some weapons. Distance kind. Repeater cross bows.

I think it's just a play on words... The "End is Near"... is basically saying, "hurry up, get your costume, Halloween is almost here" The end of the 50% discount

I find it funny that you can dress up as a coke a cola can.

Kmart is telling us that Coke A Cola is bad for us.

I am a coke can, I will dissolve your teeth and rot your guts.

I don't know what is more shocking, that the end is near or that kmart is the one telling us the end is near or the part about kmart still being in business.

I think that may be part of a costume,

being Halloween an all

A "French Maid" with a sign over her head that says THE END IS NEAR! You think that is part of her costume? You obviously didn't look at the photo.

Hmm French maids are never known for their short outfits that show off their rear end.

End is Nigh indeed.

Or Halloween.. an apocalyptic gag. ahh

Nope, must be a prophecy, k-mart are the harbingers of doom. run .. run away!

I agree with Lady_T. I think that's a sign being held by the guy in the zombie costume.

I don't care who's doing what - IT'S CREEPY for a MAJOR RETAILER to put something like this in the Sunday ad!

Why?

Are you afraid??

Does the term "Zombie Apocalypse" tell you anything? Then you would understand why the zombie holds the sign.

I don't actually see the zombie holding anything. Besides, how many zombies stand around holding signs? I think they're usually more concerned with finding their next victim.

All of the ones in k-mart adverts.

This is pretty insane, you know. I don't believe you're serious.

There's a lot of fear-mongering out there

Yes. Yes there is.

- and it's my opinion that KMART really doesn't need to be promoting fear to millions of sheep.

BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH

Says the only person afraid of a k-mart advert.

Seriously, it could be the end of the sale, the end of the world so come in a buy our goods, the end of her dress..

"Say mack, what do zombies say?"
"Uhh well.. the end of the world usually, dont they?"
"I dunno, but lets run with it."

I do not for one moment think there is any revelance in this beyond someone going "ATS MUST KNOW ABOUT THIS!!!"
