My Star is Gone

I commented on a few posts today, and noticed that my open star is gone!
I checked my messages, thinking maybe I had done something wrong, but no messages.
It's like I'm a newbe all over again!
I don't mind people not being able to give me stars, but if I messed up I'd like to know how so it doesn't happen again!

You don't ever see an open star on your own posts. If that is what you mean.

I always have. It's gray, and if someone likes it , it turns green. I get another green star for each person that 'likes' my post.

There are no stars in this thread....
( And I don't know why....) Some threads don't have them, and that's the extent of my knowledge!

I never saw one on any of my own posts before. Also, certain forums like this one, doesn't allow stars at all. Closed threads if I remember right don't allow stars either.

I believe the open star is invisible to you but visible to everybody else,
This is after the recent change in format.
Previously you could click on your own star but it did nothing. Now they've removed the temptation.

Did the open star you saw before it was green on ATS before the upgrade? I think I remember it being this way.

TKDRL and DISRAELI are correct in saying that a member cannot see the empty star on an unstarred post of their own and in places here/closed threads the feature isn't available. For example I can see the empty star available on your unstarred post here but not in any of my own unstarred posts.

You are correct in thinking that there would be a message if there were any action upon the account, there should be either an automated U2U or a direct message from the member of staff concerned. I'd like to quickly repeat here that both can be responded to if anyone wants to talk over a matter, if you do have a question over anything please don't just sit quietly and get frustrated but do contact the member of staff concerned.

A little dialogue really can go a long way.
