Dig a little deeper.

Try wrapping your mind around this: www.abovetopsecret.com...

Just my personal opinion, but if you are here to bitch about 'financial motives', you can kindly # off, and get some critical thinking skills while you are gone...

Fiction or not, people get their knickers in a twist if they think somebody is trying to make money on their writings, etc...

However, multi-national corporations can make billions off of products that contain additives that are known to be toxic to the human body; yet it's perfectly acceptable, and nobody complains about that...

No seriously, GTFO, with your double standards people..

Like the OP, i'd like to point this post out. Double standards. Hypocrites. I am one of those people. Seems I am trapped in my lifestyle. I can get out. Some how. I know it, and I still do it. But..... right now that would mean abandoning my family. Which I cannot do in times of uncertainty. I've got a solution. But I don't have the power. Or do I?

I once woke in my sleep (not dreaming but not fully awake). I felt a kind presence and asked where it was from. The roof opened up and I could see the stars and it showed me "out there." That was it. No message, just letting me know they were there.

Thank you for posting this. Very fascinating. I find all traditions, new and old, that look to the transcendent are so similar, have parallels. This dialogue has many similar elements as the traditional Tibetan path of tantra as taught by Je Tsongkhapa.

I didn't know what "star seeds" were, so I googled it and happened upon this explanatory page for other not-so-new-age educated...
Star Seeds

I can't resist mentioning that the "huge feast" reminds me of the Twilight Zone episode "To Serve Man"!

That's a lot of money for something that does not require ANYTHING than being able to tell lies.

These yerks are in it for the money. And when this year ends and nothing has happened, they will simply ignore that fact and start telling new stories - they have done it before.

Seriously!? And this AFTER they gave out the free 90 page pdf!?

Consider it a brochure. However, it is not labeled as such.

What gives you the right to dictate how people spend their money? If they aren't getting a good value, they'll stop buying.

As you chose me as your dictator I hereby order you to stay away from these jokers, remove the PDF from your disk, burn all copies you might have printed and refrain from writing, talking - heck: even thinking - about this nonsense anymore. And find yourself a book or webpage that tells you the difference between an opinion, dictum, dictate and order.

Again: my opinion is that I'm strongly opposed to jokers like these, they offer no proof whatsoever, have not certifiable skills whatsoever but still ask a lot of money for their hocus-pocus. And by doing so, they severely damage the reputation of more serious investigators of both the paranormal and UFO's (in as far as they do not overlap, of course).

You could do much more good by going to the grocery stores and trying to convince people not to buy GMO foods. At least you might stop people from causing actual harm to themselves. Your argument is futile and seriously myopic!

We're not discussing grocery stores here. We are discussing a seriously flawed PDF that can be easily traced back to a couple of German tricksters, that live of innocent souls that actually believe their crap.

Now, sir, allow me to come back to this topic in a few months - when the deadline they have set themselves has passed. Will they admit their trickery? Of course not, they will keep on telling the world they are right and simply invent a new date, or a new lie or both.

Change your DNA indeed..

That is it. It's all just 404. Eons of searching for truth. Eons of searching for the meaning of it all and it comes up as 404 error code. I embrace the Absurdity of it all.

what i see on the website "star people" is a business. they offer contact to the spirit-world and dead folks for 65 euros an hour. thats where my alarm bell rings and tells me to stay away.if you ask me they are simply luring in gullible people with their star-seed plot as that is what people want to hear nowadays.

I don't think you're looking at Alfred's website.
I just went and had another look because I had never noticed them charging for any type of reading; didn't even see where they offer readings. Is this the site? If so, please provide a link where you saw this charge.
www.the-starpeople.net...?

But, in response to your discussing money for services here, that's pretty cheap, if you ask me.
I paid a medium $200 for one hour 10 years ago. Imagine what he charges today.
But he was the real thing. He stayed booked up for 2 years in advance... he was that good.

Then a few years later I went to the psychic that this medium I saw uses, because psychic/mediums can't read themselves; I could't wait another 2 years for what I needed to know.
This woman charged $80/hr., if my memory serves me correctly. That was around 1995. I know she charges more today... inflation, and all, 'ya know?

So, 65 euros is $89 U.S. dollars. That's probably on the lower end of the scale for this service today, IMO.

Thanks for posting Sled735, and taking so much trouble to establish the link.
I find the thread useful in several ways, particularly since I'm new here, and I'm not familiar with most of the posters.
You have got many of them doing their ritual dance of denial, religious dogma, or crude cynicism, making them easy for me to identify in future.
Theirs are the "contributions" which make useful debate difficult, and I will be able now, to ignore them in future.

(Is there a device to block specified posters on this site please ?)

I've found much of interest in many of the posts, another thing you've revealed is the differences in emotional response (and apparently maturity) between those who embrace the possibilities, and those who recoil. There was much warmth evident in some of the exchanges, and I feel strongly that it radiates much further than we realise -- as do our negative feelings.

Whether or not we run into conceptual difficulties when applying the information to the global level, surely at the personal level there is much that can be usefully applied to our individual "universes," (don't we all live in a world of our own ....? )

As for channelled information, I think anyone with the cognitive apparatus to analyse text can distinguish useful concepts from hogwash, regardless of source.
("Keep in a dry place, away from children" is advice which has served me well, even if it was on the back of a matchbox).
If your post introduces the world of channelled books to a single reader, that alone would be worth a lot, I think.

Simply by trying on these ideas, (does my ego look big in this?), we loosen the shackles on our imaginations. If we think it is impossible, then it is.
Not that it has to be.
But if our imaginations frighten us, then we are also going to find others' imaginations a threat to our world view, and try to extinguish them.
As I am frequently tempted to argue with our pious members ....
So I'm impressed you left them largely alone.

The need to earn a living was well defended.
Seeing people doing what we think they didn't ought'a is bad enough, but to see them profiting from it gives us a pain we truly deserve, the intensity of which is proportional to our meanness. Perfect!

One final thought --
It could be argued that any alien approach would be beyond our ability to assess as a threat or not. If this were true, we would be in big trouble.
If however, the communication was telepathic, there would be no hiding evil intentions.
For this reason I would be wary of any alien with inaccessible motivation.
I hope that they are more "open-minded" than some of us.

On many levels, a fascinating post.
Thanks.

mistersmith.

Do people not pay thousands of dollars to go to college to learn new information? Do people not pay close to $200/tkt to go to a Led Zeppelin concert? Do people not pay hundreds to attend seminars on subjects they want to learn? Sigh...

Universities are a very good example indeed: the process how they achieve their goals is well documented and accepted by society. People trust folks that studied and earned their diploma and they have good reason for it as former alumni proved to be of (high) value to society. Universities in general have excellent track records.

Now, please consider the track records of the likes of Adamski, Menger, Meier and Goodchild. They all have said to be in contact with 'entities' from Venus, Mars, Jupiter, the Pleiades or Orion. Their entities use telepathy or channeling and invariably state they will 'help mankind' and will 'show themselves soon'. And you can be part of the elite group that is aware of it by buying their books, visiting their seminars - and never - NEVER - has society had any benefit of it, unless you see it as entertainment.

The trouble with these clows is that they do not present their shows as entertainment, religion or other stuff that you don't need proof for - they present it as truth. As they never were able to prove anything of what they said, they are simply liars and hence any dime or nickel spent on their lies is theft from the buyers.

Why is everyone coming down so hard on this group because they are doing exactly what anyone else offering information does?

Because they create their own sub-science from a web of carefully spun lies, then label themselves teachers of the 'knowledge' hidden in that web, ask money for it and subsequently do not pay back a single dime if the web collapses. They are con(wo)men. The problem is that our laws allow it. Hence my outcry to make it unlawful if you offer theories like these and present them as truth without delivering any evidence.

Alfred is a kind, giving soul, who wants to make the public aware of knowledge that hasn't been available to most people, and I don't appreciate anyone that doesn't even know him calling him a "yerk".

I have met many tricksters and conmen and they all are lovely people you would trust with your money, wife and children without any hesitance. That's what makes them good conmen! If they were acting as the yerks they are, nobody would give them a dime. So, go ahead and kiss him on the mouth as much as you want to, but your dear "Alfred" is at best tricked by what we call the Cosmic Joker. Or he is insane or deluded. But it is more likely he simply found a good way of making money. However he will not live to see the day that even a fraction of his lies will come true.

It will not happen. And you dang well know it too. But don't take my word for it, let's wait for a while. They gave themselves a timeline which ends in 2014. Only a few months and we will see what happens. Now, will dear Alfred dump his profession and start contributing to society in a more meaningful way afterwards?

If you want hte answer to that, visit say the site of Blossom Goodchild and see if SHE ditched her ill behaviour after it was proven utterly bogus what she wrote. I bet you dear Alfred will not change his erroneous ways either.

Hogwash.

I can tell you how it is for me.

Up until, say, only 1 or 2 years ago I would not even have bothered with "channeled information" and the kind of information in the book. I would've have booked it as under "total nonsense" and probably given some cynical replies here in the thread.

Then again, I read some very good spiritual (or what you want to call it "new-age") and philosophy books and I am talking about the BETTER and serious authors in the field, some even from a scientific perspective, explaining concepts such as "global consciousness", the true purpose and shape of us, "reality" and so forth.

MOST of those books are pretty much echoing what THIS book says and most of the theories in those books are actually "sound" and philosophical interesting...plausible. (At least for me).

So..the QUESTION HERE is of course, whether THIS book simply echoes such books and re-hashes that stuff..implying that it's "made up" and not true. POSSIBLE. But what I can NOT do is read, say, for example the SETH books and take them seriously and then at the same time reject THIS book as "nonsense", I mean this wouldn't make any sense whatsoever.

For example, read the VERY good book "Consciousness beyond Life" by Pin v. Lommel. How could I say that THIS book is nonsense but I have no problems with the other book?

(In other words: When I already strongly believe that our consciousness is multi-dimensional and find it plausible that there are several stages "densities" of reality...the book actually fits in)

Welcome to ATS. However, I'd reconsider if I were you, as you are clearly in the wrong forum. See, most postings in here are about the things you seem to see as 'useless': denial ("deny ignorance" is the motto here!), religious dogma (like for example the belief in 'Star People'), crude cynism (like yours, when you quote the word "contribution").

If you are merely interested in opinions that are useful to you, you should not have joined ATS.

(Is there a device to block specified posters on this site please ?)

Yes: your eyes. You are not forced to read the postings of folks whose opionions you do not like. Their names are in the column to the left of their postings, so it's relatively easy to skip their writings.

However, why be in here at all then? Just to reread reconfirmations of what you already thought you knew?
If so, wouldn't it be much better if you'd start your own forum which you moderate yourself to prevent anything that does not suit your particular belief to be posted?

This is ATS. We are here because we deny ignorance - not to enforce it by only allowing the opinions we like.

One final thought --

If however, the communication was telepathic, there would be no hiding evil intentions.

I'm not sure why you suggest that it is not possible to 'lie' in a telepathic conversation. I have seen no proof of that either way, have you?

Funny people can pay thousands of dollars of food a year that poisons them, but this is supposed to be 'wrong'.

That's actually quite a good analogy.

Food may only be produced within the bounds of the law. If the law allows it, you can use various chemicals to enrich food and/or make it last longer. If it is proven that certain chemicals are bad for health they may be listed as unlawful to use and hence may not be used anymore. We actually have processes for that, so if you really believe that adding substance X to your food is dangerous, you can make a formal complaint, add your evidence and the authorities will make it unlawful to add these additives to that product. However, many folks claim that we are being poisoned by our food are not able to proof their claims. They are also proven wrong by the ever rising life expectancy in at least the Western world.

Now, on the other hand, it is easy to proof that all stories ever told about so called 'starpeople', 'star seeds', 'channeling from Ashtar command' etc. were lies. In the last 50 years these lies were told over and over again including various deadlines that invariably were met after which nothing happened. However, we do not have a formal process to make a complaint, add the evidence and make it unlawful what these people do and say, so the folks that payed money because they believed these lies can get their money back and/or see the liairs condemned. In fact, your analogy is correct in more than one way: these jokers that keep telling us lies about star-people etc. are poisoning the field of paranormal investigation. It is hard enough to figure out what is normal and what is paranormal without these clowns.
