My name is John, I have been on a few other sites and after recent events, like being detained for more than 5 hours at Border I realized that one site I visited was a Government ran website. It sucks but its true, and Im on a HIT list so to speak now because of telling people to THINK, and follow all LAWFUL laws and orders, but that we need to change the illegal laws and get rid of them.

At any rate I found this site and have high hopes of spreading those same messages without being banned for telling people to think!

The wording in the OP's post is somewhat baffling and challenging at the same time in that he first refers to Lawful Laws then states that there is such a thing as an "illegal law."

I have my doubts about that. There are "unjust" laws some of which are so egregious in that respect that we needn't obey them in good conscience (the ACA comes to mind) - at no small risk to our personal freedom, of course. Edward Snowden comes to mind as a perfect illustration of what the OP might be referring to. He's (the OP) being a tad mysterious, but I like that.

FUNNY you should say that. I am proud to have been banned from both the Democatic Underground AND a right wing site that I can't even remember the name of. Tombstoned at the DU (DUmp) in a matter of three days. The right wing site it was like 3 weeks. I'm rather proud of those bans. Had fun going in knowing I was going to have a short lived life in them.

Abovetopsecret isn't an echo chamber like those places ... so you can have a lot of fun here.

The major cardinal sins hereon . . . in terms of the T&C appear to be

1. incivility. The standard seems to be a pretty British sense and criteria of civility.
2. insults--avoiding direct or clearly targeted personal insults--particularly of persons, personhood vs ideas, assertions.

Kindness and gentleness seem to go a long ways.

Expect Christian bashing--can still be very much overly evident though it's tons better from the first years.

All other bashing is trounced almost immediately by almost one and all, including the mods.

I'd recommend being polite and if possible kind; especially to those who scream for your blood the loudest

No Joke there, I was for telling people to think, and government should obey constitution, and so should all government employees. I was detained for 5 1/2 hours by CBP while coming back from Canada. they also have some people following me all this after posting for a few months on another WELL known website. I found out its run by Air Force, so I no longer pay them to be tracked! LOL It all sounds surreal, but its 100 percent factual!


By the way how long till I can post a new thread?

I have a hunch you might be short lived. Be mindful, if you can post with manners your usually fine.

I was banned from GLP and the funny thing is I don't use it and not or have ever been a member there. My IP is a thread to them for some reason.

I'm new as well and find that frustrating myself. I think the training wheels are on until you receive 15 stars? There's also something about "flags", but I'm still not sure what that means. You will see lots of references to S&F (which I presume to be stars and flags).

Sure, it's sort of a honeypot. I could explain, but it's not really important or worthwhile. The backtraces are all standard and this is probably one of the safest places there is as a weird result of what's going on behind the scenes and under the trap doors.

But it's a great place, and nobody comes to harm for what they post here. There's never been privacy on the internet, so in a way, you have nothing to lose in just being yourself and not worrying about who might be watching. They don't care about you and me anyhow -- really. All anyone wants to do is change how we think, and as humans that is only a question of how much power we have, not how much time and inclination we have for trying to rule the world from where we sit. Speak your truth, tell your story, and the more people who know, the less you have to fear.
