Are you looking for pity?
It sounds like your condition has been in place for a long time before your so called accident head bump.
What is the purpose of your OP, what are you trying to achieve?
Have you had a sheltered life? That could explain all these symptoms.

Do you suffer from multiple personalities?

I wasn't looking for pity, but rather stars and flags, of course. Because we all know that threads posted here are attempts at 15 minutes of fame. Nothing else.

And no, I do not suffer from multiple-personalities disorder.

Where are you trying to go with this?

Hi Sweetheart

sorry to hear you have these issues.

I don't have any advice really. I did have 2 MVAs and had physio and that was a waste of time....didn't work.

I have had some relief with a chiropractor and a Chinese herbalist.

for the most part, time seems to heal because over time, my own pain has settled but processing issues, I still have some problems.

When was the last time you had an EEG?

I did some research on post concussive issues and there are some vitamins that can help:

Concussion and Brain Damage

neurotalk - vitamin treatment

the 1st car accident (MVA) left me with concussion (severe) and I suffered convulsions thereafter. Violent nasty seizures. I wouldn't wish them on my worst enemy!

awful stuff but some of the vitamins do help.

I will get a scan this Friday. From there we will know exactly what needs to be done.

I didn't get any treatments yet because at first, I thought I would only have short lived consequences...
But as time passed, it became clear they were staying for the long run...

Since I stopped the chiropractor, that helped me a lot; part of my neck feels better. But as soon as there are efforts made by my neck muscles, I don't feel that well... Not just with the muscles, but with the brain too.
At least, I don't zone out anymore. It didn't happen since I stopped the chiropractor.

I'm sorry to hear you had a traumatic accident too.

I had a concussion four years ago ....

NowanKenubi
I forgot words, and the weirder part?

Yep. I still have that. I can't find the word. I can be 'looking' at it in my head and I can't see it. I don't know if that' the concussion or my SJogrens ... both cause that to happen.

For nearly 8 months following the accident, I was not able to watch a movie or tv show, nor could I read.

Yep. That lasted 8 months for me too. I still can't watch a TV or computer that is moving quickly.

my short term memory also impairs my ability to remember my dreams. I'll wake and know I was dreaming, but won't know about what at all.

Yep. I still have that. I used to remember every dream. Now .. it's rare to remember them. I don't know if that's still the concussion or if it's the SJogrens. Both do it.

I also seem to suffer from a sort of partial anhedonia, a loss of pleasure.

I get depression from Sjogrens so I hear ya' ...

like I'm more likely to tell "# off" than I used to.

Yep. I still have that. I get ticked more easily. But I've learned to usually catch myself before my mouth starts flapping ...

I don't know if it is helpful or not ... but you aren't alone with your concussion symptoms ...
I hope the best for you.

oh sorry but I remembered something else.

simple exercises help.

cross crawl is VERY good for occupational therapy.

think of a stroke victim...they have to stimulate other areas of the brain to do the job that the other part cannot do anymore:

this exercise is brilliant!!

(hope I have inserted the vid # right)

Demand an EEG from your Dr, it takes 4 hours so get it done... it shows more detail than an MRI or SCAN does.

u2u me anytime...
and let us all know how you get on with the next scan

cheers

My doctor asked for a scan because I think she doesn't quite belive me about the accident. I think she asked for it just to cover all bases... lol

I'll sure let you know what come out of it.

Thanks again, and thanks also to FlyersFan.

it is not coming across that way.

so your using the hard line approach... ?

a head injury does not equate to a Multiple Personality Disorder.
