So far about forty big rigs and supporting pickups. Even Fox News is reporting it this way.

The group responsible for this protest put up a vid/pic that showed a large charity big rig rally from several months ago, leading people to believe it was today's action. They got called on it and took it down.

Folks, I'm calling it a big, fat dud of an event. If this is how day 1 is going to be, I don't have much hope for the next couple resulting in any meaningful amount of people assembling anywhere.

I was thinking the same, Nyiah.

There were supposed to be trucks around the whole beltway 5 lanes deep creating a wall not letting anyone in or out, if I remember correctly.

And then I [speculation] some truckers trained in street fighting were gonna jump out of the bushes where they were hiding in reserve and head into the capitol and start arresting congressmen by knocking them unconscious with tools while they were trapped - meanwhile the trucks armor would prevent police from breaking through except by air.

But now I see a boat and a truck here and there.

Is this going on right now? im on the trucker channel atm, listening for DC, llol

anyways, the reason we arent seeing anything i think, cause the date for this event was yesterday, lol.

im tryin to find any info on whether the date got changed.

Sorry, I am listening to that website, and he is talking about pics of national guard by the highways, saying that is why the trucks had to pull back.

Don't know what is really going on any more, if anything!!

That would be ironic as my buddy is in the DC National Guard. He at his civilian job today.

Looks like typical Friday traffic for the area. I hate getting loads up that way. I went through there once, had 4 1/2 hours to get to a truck stop (which comes out to about 240-250 miles). That was just on the North side of Washington. By the time I got to the South side of the City, I had an hour and a half left.

Yeh I'm proud of you guys too, for a long time I've been telling you guys to get off your asses and it looks like now most of you are fully awake and ready to take your country back, the futures uncertain but things like this are making me feel really positive for you, I love America and even though I'm not religious, god bless the lot of you in the coming months

Boy, I really hope Sunday turns out, and has a better turn out, than this seems to be having.

I'll be surprised if it does. The last time they tried to strike it was everywhere. It was on the CB it was in the truck stops, it was in magazines, you couldn't turn around without hearing about it. This time, if it wasn't for ATS I would never have heard about it.

Yeah, I went through the 90's strike here at work, we ship with several trucking companies, and wow was that a nightmare.
This is nothing like that, in fact, of the companies we use, NONE of the drivers I have asked even knew this was going on. I don't think the unions were on board with this for one thing.


And by Sunday, I meant the Veterans showing up at memorials.

Ah yeah, I forgot about that. Maybe that one will go better. I knew the trucker strike was going to flop as soon as I heard about it.

Well, 5 pm, time to go home, but I'm going to actually log out, and will try to get on tonight with my phone, just to see if there is anything new.

This is America. From Congress to the average person, always a lot of big talk, not so much in the way of action.
