Bachman's "end times" rant

No great surprise that the fundamentalist nutcases are seizing on everything - you can just see this leading up to the overthrow of the constitution and the formation of the Christian States of America!!

“This happened and as of today the United States is willingly, knowingly, intentionally sending arms to terrorists, now what this says to me, I’m a believer in Jesus Christ, as I look at the End Times scripture, this says to me that the leaf is on the fig tree and we are to understand the signs of the times, which is your ministry, we are to understand where we are in God’s end times history," Bachmann told Jan Markell, radio host of "Understanding the Times," on Saturday.


“Rather than seeing this as a negative, we need to rejoice, Maranatha Come Lord Jesus, His day is at hand,” Bachmann added later. “And so when we see up is down and right is called wrong, when this is happening, we were told this; that these days would be as the days of Noah. We are seeing that in our time. Yes it gives us fear in some respects because we want the retirement that our parents enjoyed. Well they will, if they know Jesus Christ.”

by contrast McCain looks positively moderate!!

When a Fox News host raised concerns last month over a rebel's use of "Allahu Akbar," a ubiquitous Islamic phrase, during the debate over the use of force in Syria, Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) quickly shot him down.

"You have a problem with that? Would you have a problem with an American Christian saying ‘thank God, thank God’?” an annoyed McCain said. "That’s what they’re saying. Come on. Of course they’re Muslims, but they’re moderates and I guarantee you that they are moderates. I know them and I've been with them. For someone to say 'Allahu Akbar' is about as offensive as someone saying 'thank God.'"

Bachmann is without a doubt, about as nutty as they get. (Kinda makes you wonder about those who elected her to office, doesn't it?)

On the other hand, John McCain is developing a reputation for calling out these nut-jobs when they go off the deep end. Remember the lady at the campaign rally who said Obama was an Arab?

Now what do you suppose it was that led McCain to pick the other bona-fide nut-job, Sarah Palin as his V.P. choice? Crazy right?

What bible is reading from that we should rejoice in arming terrorist? That to me says she's a nut job. So many Christians are so deceived and will find a boot on their heads for their refusal to oppose evil and sitting around on their hands "waiting" for Jesus to return and to be caught up in the magical clouds.

No, because she believes that this is the end time as biblically described. She's in a position that could, potentially, accelerate her view of what Armagedon would look like. Meaning; if she believes that Christ's coming hinges upon war with Iran, she'll be an advocate for war with Iran.

She's a nutjob because her view of Christianity is easily imposed on everyone else. She likely believes she has a divine purpose to accomplish her personal goals. "God wants me to do this!"

Nevermind that no one can know what God wants. She knows, she believes herself a true disciple of Christ and that somehow gives her insight, divination, into God's will. That's what makes her a nutjob.

usually when you hear the phrase "allahu akbar" it is just before an explosion or rapid gunfire where innocent women and children are blown to bits just because they have different views....when you hear "thank god" it is usually from someone narrowly missing a disaster, christian or not. And Mcain is just a moron whom needs to retire and live off SS...only...

She is engaging in fear-mongering to motivate a certain number of protestant chrisitans by invoking end times, etc., in a cynical ploy to gain votes and sympathy.

She does not even bother to quote scripture.

I think McCain probably didn't express his thoughts clearly enough. The takbir is a general usage phrase. "God is greater!" Taken into various contexts it's generally an expression given at various times to express ones belief that 'God is greater than this!'

A muslim pilot dies in a plane crash to no fault of his own says, "Allahu akbar!" before dying. A baby is born and the father whispers, "Allahu akbar." into the newborn's ear. An explosion destoys a nearby neighborhood and, in horror, a muslim yells, "God is greater!"

It is used in various contexts by Muslims: in formal prayer, in the call for prayer (Adhan), as an informal expression of faith, in times of distress, to express celebration or victory, and to express resolute determination or defiance.

I don't know if Bachmann is an evangelical christian or not but she has a right to her own faith. Just as everyone else does. I won't fault her for it anymore the Jehovah Witnesses I worked with back in the 80's who all went home one weekend expecting themselves to be raptured. When they came back to work on Monday all I felt for them was sadness.

McCain is another thing entirely. The man is a complete psycho and terrorist sympathizer. He should be sent to prison for that photo-op he had with the Syrian "rebels." If you're putting John McCain up as proof Michell Bachmann is nuts I have to wonder about you.

She serves on the Intelligence Committee. There are just no words to describe my feelings about that.

Okie Dokie there...... That'll be 1 for the rubber room and straight jacket will be required, I do believe.

When politicians start mentioning end times in a religious sense? I don't care if they are Christian, Muslim or Hindu. They've lost perspective of the line which must come between Governing and Worshiping. A real BRIGHT line ...where scripture of end times and the world dying to a very small number isn't coming into political speeches by sitting Congress people.

Bad times are seeing this happen, not what she's talking about.

No - she is nutty because she is a religious extremist - IMO she is a lot more dangerous to the USA than AQ is - she would accelerate the "end times" by war if she could
