so if you can't pay your rent by the 15th, they kick you onto the street by the first. Even if you have a check coming on the 18th which can cover the rest of your rent, it doesn't matter. You are out, done, through.

life is horrific. how am i to find a new place in 2 weeks when flat broke?
isn't housing to HELP people get on their feet, keep them sheltered. I'd move in with someone but no one I know has the room, period.

I'm devastated.

gotta get to work else I'd post more.

Particularly Government housing, I'd note. You'd think that given the track record of Government for paying it's bills, they'd show a little self enlightened compassion for others less than 100% perfect. Wow. That's just cold.

At will leases require 30 days notice, did they give you an eviction notice on the 1st?

it super sucks but i guess you could go for a payday loan until your cheque gets in, it might cost you $50 but that sbetter than eviction

i'd be looking around.

maybe even pawn something for a couple of weeks and get it back with the cheque

its not great but there are options

They'll start the evicition procedure on the first yes. I'm planning to say screw the rent cuz i can't pay it anyway and need every cent to get to my job, plus keep the fingers crossed. Calling my old landlord to see if I can move back in the old place since it's vacant. I'll be back on my feet financially on the 2nd and from that point on, thank God for that relief.

And thanks to everyone else. Sometimes we just need to hear support and/or 'been there, know the feeling'. Alas, I have nothing of value to pawn, period. :/
