I was hoping something would divert Wolf Blitzer from talking about the gov shutdown.

I was not hoping it would be something like this.

I dont believe it.

Guns are banned in DC.

Probably just firecrackers, Gun Free zones are magical gun protection zone where no firearm may enter...

Looks like Texas plates, could be wrong...Images here

I dont think she hit that one. That was the one who hit something himself and flipped his car in the process of it all. Just a crummy driver I think. But then again, no one seems to have the right story yet so who knows.

The other car is not near that pic of the wrecked squad car...No Black paint on the cop car...That cop car lost control during the chase and rolled or hit a post IMO. And pics of the shooter car here...no damage to show impact with cop car.

So she was shot and killed, unarmed, with a child in the car.

Pretty sad news all the way around.

This is weird, and I know this isn't directly related, but the school system here has been on lockdown and still on modified lockdown. Something about some emails. I'm wondering if other people are boiling over here too, we have a military post, lots of veterans, govt. employees, the works.

My speculation based upon current reports.

AN out-of-state driver, being unfamiliar with the roads in D.C. Which are crazy. She approached the checkpoint, has a discussion with the officers at the checkpoint, and began to drive away. While driving away, she see's multiple police vehicles and she bolts (perhaps she had contraband or was fearful of being arrested). She speeds off, triggering the police to respond in kind, chasing her through red lights, and firing upon her vehicle. One officer is injured in the chase, scaring her even more until she is finally stopped and shot dead by police.

It could be a case of the police escalating a situation, of a frightened "out of towner"....it is plausible. Remember back what happened in California with the police firing upon innocents during the Dormer incident?
It's plausible, so far, that this could be a D,C, version of that here.

A female suspect was shot by police at the conclusion of the car chase, says a Capitol Police Officer. ABC reports that the suspect is dead. The Senate Seargent at Arms says that there was a child in the suspect's car, but the child did not sustain injuries.

A Capitol Police officer tells NJ that one of his colleagues is injured and currently being treated. Another officer says that the injured officer is in stable condition. The officer was injured during the car crash, not from shots fired. The Senate Seargent at Arms believes that the office "does not appear to have life-threatening injuries."

Happens all the time in breaking news,

is she or isn't she deceased?
