"Box" explores the synthesis of real and digital space through projection-mapping on moving surfaces. The short film documents a live performance, captured entirely in camera. Bot & Dolly produced this work to serve as both an artistic statement and technical demonstration. It is the culmination of multiple technologies, including large scale robotics, projection mapping, and software engineering. We believe this methodology has tremendous potential to radically transform theatrical presentations, and define new genres of expression.

www.botndolly.com...

It's one of the most amazing videos I have seen in a long time, This one needs to be shared with the great ATS community !!

I hope you'll enjoy it as much as i did.. Best viewed in a darkened room for maximum effect

modern illusion/magic... if we can do this now...imagine in 100 to 500 years from now.. maybe we could create a world for each one of us to live as we like or want it to be.

Wow! Impressive.

The possibilities in creating immersive environments using this technology is big.

As pretty as it is now, It'll take refining and tinkering, but things like Remote training, Teaching, Tele-conferencing, Video gaming and TV/Film could all be transformed with commercial devices built using a version of the projection system and a power PC and we could soon(ish) start seeing the beginings of something resembling an early version of a 'holodeck' from ST:TNG more than the TV or Computer screen we have now.

Thanks for posting.

So they used a perfectly white surface as a projection screen for simulation videos designed to look like authentic three dimensional space, demonstrating a series of techniques which display the flexibility of the simulation method being used?

Or after other recreational activities. This would be especially mind-blowing in such a case.

Hybridization of projection mapping and the Matrix ping pong act. To put it simply, minds would be flippin'.
