Lots of us here at ATS have looked into Monsanto, usually with a certain amount of derision and disgust, well it appears as though our gut instincts may have been correct (per usual I might add).

The following is a link to the recent ATS AMA Guest Ben Swann's look into this company (dare I say "Corporate National Entity"?), it's not what you may expect but, then again, it might just confirm what you suspected all along.

Good over view of "Monster...err...Monsanto", but it seems like it's just a hit at DC cronyism. The FDA isn't the only governmental agency to have this issue. I know a lot of the focus is on how "Lobbyists" are often poached from the halls of Congress, but the truth is it happens in other departments too. How many High Ranking military officers go on to work at Defense Contractors?

Hmm, Swann didn't mention at all that Monsanto bought out a PMC.

Now why would a company like Monsanto need a PMC?

Was there ever doubt that Monsanto dabbled in crony capatilism?

I think even those of us that don't buy into every snippet of anti Monsanto rhetoric realise this is the case.

Shame he quoted Natural News too.

I suppose it depends what a PMC is.

A google search says:
The Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet
Planet Minecraft
Passenger Movement Charge
Pubmed central
PMC loudspeakers
PMC photography
a bike rental company
real estate
a church parish
a company that makes gas regulators
the Potato Marketing Corporation
a doctors clinic
Precious Metal Clay (PMC)
PMC-SIERRA (Produces MIPS processors )
and
PMC is a free full-text archive of biomedical and life sciences journal literature at the U.S. National Institutes of Health's National Library of Medicine (NIH/NLM).

You're right. I dont know why they'd want any of those.

I did like the content of the video, but nothing new was really said. I suppose it is an introductory video for those who are ignorant of Monsanto and its "way of doing business". Most of us here knew of Taylor and his ties to USDA and Monsanto; the total lack of labeling from the political side versus the popular side of wanting labels.

Some of the comments are interesting, although most of them result in ad hominem attacks and other logical fallacies to derail the conversation from both/all sides of the discussion.

I hope there will be same move as with computer code. GM is no longer thing of high tech extra expensive labs ... in fact everybody can manipulate genetic information in his/her garage. I do not think that GM is problem per se, I do think it is problem of corporate world. Make it open source and f*** proprietary solutions. As with M$ you will be burned in longer run. So explore GM BUT without those stupid patents. I can translate it to US English: current form of capitalism is evil. May be all forms of capitalism are evil

Springer, thanks for the post.
From your link, here is Ben Swanns video, embedded.

I give Ben credit, he says right off the bat the first and foremost issue
is the doubt of safety of GMO foods.

All moves against Monsanto are good ones!
