AN OPEN LETTER TO MAUREEN DOWD
By J. Matt Barber
MichNews.com
Nov 12, 2004

Dearest Elite and Most Enlightened Maureen:

Ours is a Nation wherein we are the drooling, Neanderthal, war-mongering Red-Staters. You are the freethinking, lucid, peace-loving Blue-Staters. We are the toothless, barefoot, OshKosh BGosh Conservatives. You are the handsome, well-cultured, stylish Liberals. We are the hate-filled, dogmatic, fanatical Christians. You are the tolerant, agnostic, atheist, new age, pantheist, moral relativistwhatever(man thats a mouth full! Pick one will ya!?). These are the truths you hold to be self-evident that not all Americans are created equal.

Rest of post...

Hopefully someone can read this for Maureen, and you other liberals, and point out the sarcasm that is riddled in this article.

Yes, it's just so bad that you didn't make this up yourself.

But at least you copied an accomplished man. No one ever said we don't have some winners over here.

The minute you settle for less than you deserve, you get even less than you settled for.

Maureen Dowd, in 'New York Times'
"Bushworld"
Li sten to Dowd's side

"Maureen Dowd, winner of the 1999 Pulitzer Prize for distinguished commentary, became a columnist on The New York Times Op-Ed page in 1995 after having served as a correspondent in the paper's Washington bureau since 1986. She has covered four presidential campaigns and served as White House correspondent. She also wrote a column, "On Washington," for The New York Times Magazine.

Ms. Dowd joined The New York Times as a metropolitan reporter in 1983. She began her career in 1974 as an editorial assistant for The Washington Star, where she later became a sports columnist, metropolitan reporter and feature writer. When the Star closed in 1981, she went to Time magazine.

Born in Washington D.C., Ms. Dowd received a B.A. degree in English literature from Catholic University (Washington, D.C.) in 1973."

Barber seems to be a bit confused. I've been reading Dowd for years and her opinion of Bush or his devotees hasn't changed. She hasn't become particularly more venomous as of late--W. calls her the Cobra for a reason. She has always been hard on 43 & his mignons, religious hypocrites, politicians (Kerry included), and ignorant fools... and I do realize that these categories more that occasionally overlap. Why should she change now, or is all dissention considered passe under the Second Coming of GWB?

Today's column is especially biting--and perhaps addresses this point.....

In BushWorld there is no dissent. Dowd calls it like it is. It's those big girlymen in Roveland that can't handle her critiques. Boo Hool!

This is the same website that advocates the United States Government bring back the House Committee on Un-American Activities to PROSECUTE those who disagree with, and speak out against the occupation of Iraq.

Seriously, please post more. There's a reason why Conservatives are treated with contempt. There's a reason why Christians have a bad reputation. You guys are kooks. You're maniacs. Your views are look down upon as backwards, because they're backwards. You're a member of an angry, bloodthirsty mob, and those tend not to work out so well.

I SAW SARA PROCTER CAVORTING WITH TO THE DEBIL!

I agree with you Brimstone.. Except, Christianity, like Islam, gets a bad name b/c those who are out there in the mainstream media use it for profit and power, not for the love of God. (Think: Pat Robertson et al) They are charlatans. Anyone who can't see through them is as rotten or blind as they are. True believers see how UNGODLY this administration is. I hope people will consider that before they tar all Christians with that tainted brush.
