Next month the UN bureaucracy in charge of global warming, called the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, will release its first major scientific report in six years. Word has leaked out that they have revised downward their projections for global temperatures.

Sure, we're to blame for polluting our atmosphere (o-zone layer and such), but our Earth, and Sun, go through major changes every few decades. Example, ice ages come and go..

If temperatures rise, then let's look to the sun (not literally. avert your eyes!), before we start assuming it's due to our human carbon foot print.

It seems that despite a lack of coverage from the MSM (what'd you expect?), others are taking mote and speaking out that their "models'" "predictions" of .2 to .3C warming per decade were overblown by half!

Most experts believe that warming of less than 2 degrees Celsius from preindustrial levels will result in no net economic and ecological damage. Therefore, the new report is effectively saying (based on the middle of the range of the IPCC's emissions scenarios) that there is a better than 50-50 chance that by 2083, the benefits of climate change will still outweigh the harm.

After scientists repeatedly being caught cooking the figures, Id never have guessed they were trying to tricketh us, to justify "carbon taxes".

Great.

So now politicians will have to think of something else to scam us for money to pay for their largesse and economic ineptitude.

Don't think it'll make any difference whether human activities are causing 0.12c/decade or 0.13c/decade net warming - they will take our money to pay for their caviar and Bentleys by whatever means. But we elect them, so what do we expect?

Meanwhile, the scientists trying to determine the truth get the blame, as usual. Still, any scapegoat so long as it's not the politician, eh?

In fact, just two months ago, ABC News.com estimated soon-to-be-Nobel Laureate Al Gore's net worth at $100 million, which isn't bad considering that he was supposedly worth about $1 million when he watched George W. Bush get sworn in as president in January 2001.

No its not real, its part of the natural fluctuations of solar activity. What goes up invariably goes back down.
The earth has been subject to many ice ages, and many warm periods.
Even the renaissance was warmer than it is now.

The fact is that with 60% growth in the arctic ice sheet, and ten years of steady temperatures, its a bit hard to keep the lie going, so it would seem they have come clean, or at least started to.

CO2 emmisions are just a small part of climate change. over mining of geo-effective mineral deposits, over concentrating chemicals of natural and unnatural origin in areas, Unnatural chemistry in our sewerage, and disrupting the natural biology of the earth cause much of the problem. Pollution from china even reaches the west coast and possibly contributes to ten to twelve percent of the pollution there. Looking at CO2 levels to judge climate change is like looking at the paint on a car to judge it's mechanical state. Sure, it does have some effect but it is not the only reason for this increasing screwed up weather.

A tax fixes nothing. The governments are trying to find hidden ways to get money. Most of us here understand that but the majority of people in this country didn't pay attention in Government Econ classes in high school. They memorized what was needed to pass the test and did not evaluate what was being told to them. The Government loves our ignorance.

How much of that did he make from his "global warming scam?" he does have other business enterprises and one most recent has been very lucrative. Do you just repeat empty BS or are you even remotely interested in details and the truth?

MAN MADE GLOBAL WARMING IS NOT REAL. Taxing us to offset carbon emissions is a scam.

We have no control over the cycles of the sun.

Not really. I never mentioned MMGW but hey, whatever. I am sure you think pollution is awesome though. What I ACTUALLY DID SAY is that since GW is real, perhaps we should try to do something to protect ourselves. Why you want to argue with that is beyond me.

Yeah, but the point is: AGW is not a scam. It's happening. It's real.

Politicians using AGW to get more money is the scam (but if it wasn't for AGW they've be scamming you some other way, so really it make sno difference)

And some might argue that the anti-science/catastrophic global cooing religious mob are also on a scam, though only, IMO, insofar as taking your souls and seliing you all for fools.
